Why do you guys REFUSE to take Docks?
I’ve tried to figure this out for some time now. I consider this a phenomenon. An entire faction refuses to take Docks, while simultaneously deciding that glaives are so strong that they NEED to be killed. How is it you haven’t put 2 and 2 together yet? Just TAKE Docks.
I’ve been trying to get answers out of people in BG chat. I get one of 3 responses:
- Alliance get there first, so it’s hopeless.
- Stop talking and play.
And the very, very special 3rd response I’ve gotten before…
- We don’t win that fight, they have the high ground.
What is going on??? It doesn’t matter if Alliance can get the cap first. If the Horde team is there and contesting it, Alliance doesn’t get to use those glaives until the battle is over and won for them. If Horde WANTS to fight for Docks, the fight HAS to resolve first, and the winner takes Docks. It doesn’t MATTER who capped it first.
And once you have glaives, hell, you can just 40-man defend them if you want. Nothing else is important if you got those. You spam aoe’s, NOBODY is getting through that, the glaives kill the gate in a minute or less, and you migrate your 40-man death squad into the boss and the game is over.
This whole gambit of… “We’re gonna LET them take the strongest node in the game, and then HOPE they underman the glaive protection, and then HOPE our stealthies go together to kill them,” is such a BIZARRE decision to make. And to make it even MORE bizarre, the ENTIRE FACTION chooses to do this.
Every.
Single.
Match.
And every single match, it’s the same thing. “Omg, noob Rogues, they didn’t kill the glaives. Omg omg omg omg omg! This entire loss is their fault!”
How many more DECADES would it take for this faction to figure it out??? I’m literally asking the entire Horde faction right now: Would you mind explaining the logic of this chosen strategy? And why is it that you think just TAKING Docks is not worth it?
My theory: With an unknown origin to me, it’s simply become a snowballed herd mentality effect, where everyone hears “ignore docks but kill glaives” at the start of the BG every time, and nobody really knows why it’s being said anymore. And then, the very small handful of victories that happened to come from this, usually due to Alliance misplays, end up serving as validation in the Horde players’ minds. “See, it works if we do it right!”
