Pretty sure both sides were complaining: Horde about there not being any alliance then Alliance before that complaining about Horde zerging WQs. Blizzard put in AOO to entice the outnumbered faction back into war mode. Had nothing really to do with alliance wanting gear or not, you keep repeating this like it is fact but you’ve yet to back it up.
Blizzard nerfed the AOO quest after a sea of tears on multiple sites and confirmed the upcoming nerf in a QA. You keep talking about the bonus when we are talking about the gear. They aren’t related other than they both only can be acquired in war mode.

Convenient that you ignore the threads pre-8.1 of Horde whining in thread after thread about there being no alliance to fight. You also keep talking about choice. The choice was between getting camped as a solo player by raid group size horde groups versus even engagements.
You don’t care because you aren’t interested in seeing both sides of the argument because it doesn’t fit your confirmation bias.
Alliance didn’t beg blizzard for it… they asked for better shard balance, not gear. The only misinformation is, again, from YOU.
