Horde Advantages in AV

The zerg is easily countered… weirdly it took like 12 years before it dawned on the horde that IBT/IBGY is a stupendous choke point such that the zerg can be snuffed out in a few minutes …

A single horde can’t, no. But that’s not what a zerg is.

Wait she can ice block herself? I have never seen her do it and have killed her 100’s of times over the last 3 days, and not once has she done this…I have seen her sheep a random person in the group other then that she stands there and cast fight bolt over and over again.

Anyone remember how the horde start cave was moved to the back of the map because of the significant advantage it gave in TBC? I remember

AV is HEAVILY horde favored in this iteration. There is absolutely no excuse for alliance to be steamrolling so many games other then the shear number of incompetent horde players

True, because alliance give up after the horde decide to defend and extend the game.

It’s faster honor to farm lts and lose. With that said I’ve done 28 games today on my alliance alt and I’ve won 2.

Eventually, she does. Added in a later patch.

alliance will ALWAYS russ to boss and horde will always get bal and company for rep and honor.

So your broken defensive position is only good if you’re actually defending? Shocking.

It is correct that the horde can win. As with any game played between two teams.

In retail, for a literal decade, the alliance always zerg rushed and won a tremendous majority of those games (and they stopped for Galv and burned everything which Ive only seen Classic alliance attempt once and that was today). The horde tried to do the same thing and didn’t care either way cuz honor per hour - zero defense 98% of the time - turn the bunker and then abandon for an ez ally recap - and that’s even mentioning stuff like afk’s and bots which were a plague for a long time.

You need (or used to) really good tanks and heals to straight up run in there and take it on like a raid encounter. You can count on one hand how many times the horde have pulled that off - whereas the alliance counted on it being an easy win for them for god knows how long - and you know this for a fact.

It doesn’t take any next level coordination. It just requires people to not all stop at Balinda.

If horde towers are so great why do all he archers vanish as soon as anyone caps them? Rogues frequently cap FW towers just before the zerg arrives rendering them useless, even if they are quickly re-capped.

There are advantages for both sides but I don’t really want to address that since most of it’s already been covered. I think a lot of it depends on the people and how well each team uses it’s advantages. The alliance bridge can be nearly impossible to cross when properly defended.

My issue is that people looking to rank are forced to do AV because it is the most honor/hour and WSG just can’t compete. This is further exasperated by horde having longer queue times, majority of wsg matches are full premades while majority of horde teams are pugs because it simply takes too long to get in a game with a full premade.

When AV was first designed and released, it was much much harder to win fast. There were way more npcs that respawned more often and had way more health. The map was designed to take a long time and rewarded a lot of honor/rep because of this.

Who remembers when the map was full of land mines? Hit 2 mines and you’re dead. The mines basically forced teams to stay on the roads and paths and were generally only cleared late game by players dying on them so frequently. I’ll admit I hated them and was glad to see them go but the point is the battleground was designed to last much longer. Fast forward to 2019 and we have this heavily nerfed version of AV that can be won in 9mins or less (by alliance at least) by zerg rushing to Drek and exploit pulling him without warmasters, (yes I know horde can do this too but I’ve rarely seen it happen for what ever reason.)

I think AV should be un-nerfed and npcs added back in with more health and more frequent respawns particularly on archers. I remember archers having sooooo much HP’s back in the day, now they are solo’able by any ranged from outside the tower/bunker.

Okay so maybe un-nerfing AV is a bad idea (I don’t know?) but something needs to change to make wsg a more viable BG again. Maybe introduce the bonus honor weekends sooner or nerf the honor gains from AV, or buff honor gains from WSG.

I don’t know what the best solution is but I know that in my own experience, playing nothing but AV without anyone I know sucks. If two horde queue at the same time for AV they will almost never end up in the same game, and yet it seems alliance are able to get in the same games together because we see a lot of the same players from the same guilds/servers.

Well yeah. Things balance out when every class has been homogenized. Everyone has a CC. Everyone has a self heal. Hell, every class is basically the same.

Which is why people wanted classic where choices matter… like class and spec.

So Ally we premade grouping and were winning almost every time. Horde starting QQ’ing to the Forums and like a good horde toadie Blizzard catered to them and removed premades from AV. How about if you are going to keep premades out of AV then you need to fix it. Horde have so many advantages in AV it is rediculous. it seems the nerf bats only come out to HELP the horde. typical Blizzard favoritism crap.

We didn’t need a 6 month necro when there’s 100 other newer AV threads. Also, nothing stops alliance from playing how they used to, without the premades. They decided not to, just like how horde decided not to premade AV, despite having the option to.

I’ve never won a AV yet on the alliance side. It would be cool if blizzard would let alliance win again for a couple months…
