On the Alliance hand, forgiving and teaming up with the horde after all of this seems downright appalling- in fact, i’d be perfectly willing to let azeroth die, if only i could take the horde (and Liadrin in particular) down with me.
On the Horde hand, im sure having your identities absorved by the alliance and getting fingerwagged by Anduin is equally appalling and would prolly also let azeroth die to stop that.
BUT…
in order to stop such terrible writing from ever happening again, i’d be willing to make that sacrifice…
Well i wouldn’t say that, since we had a scenario, a limited time event, and entire raid of killing Horde soldiers in MoP, but we’ve certainly killed more Horde than Alliance this expansion, though.
World of Warcraft Battle for the Horde 2: The Shriekquell
I’m not concerned about what the Alliance may do to the Horde at all, its the Alliance after all. I’m more concerned about what the Horde will do to the Horde, and how we’re finally gonna learn our lesson. I just hope there’s some resemblance of what attracted me to the Forsaken and Horde in the first place by the end of this faction pride expansion.
Lets start off with hoping that we don’t end up killing off all our own characters by the end if the expansion. As much as you want Baine dead, with all the subtraction and no addition, it’s going to be a very lonely Horde soon.
Like, as much as i dislike Sylvanas right now (and you know i do), i would rather she not die and deprive us of another Horde character. We’ve had enough if them die as is, we need to start re-stocking our shelves. If you catch my drift. Just gotta hope for characters to get better, rather than simply eliminating them.
Yes, a 2 week long event that no one will ever experience again has more effect on the Horde player base than months and months of re-playable content constantly asserting how bad the Horde is to its own player base and members.
Get where you’re coming from, but its not like we both have shįt stories to contend with.
I feel like this is Blizz trying to double down, to force players who are still not sold on SoO 2: Electric Boogaloo to come to the painfully obvious conclusion that Sylvanas’ head in on the chopping block. What they don’t understand is that we all already know this, we just don’t care to revisit that god forsaken storyline AGAIN.
At this point, I’m actually more interested in when/how they’ll finally just ‘take away my toys’ so to speak, and force my character to finally take the path they want me to take. Will I be locked in a cell until I surrender to Saurfang and Baine’s authority? (Think a 1 click completion quest to get out, after an implied period of time) Or will they finally show a cutscene where Sylvanas asks me to watch her filet a living baby, and I’m literally given no other option than to say ‘Whoa! Too much!’ before scampering off to the honor brigade.
Great I get to kill Forsaken loyalist for Baine just so he can sleep better at night. And it all ends with this lovely gem of a quote.
“Banshee! Are we nothing more than pawns in your game?"
Gee, I don’t know, Baine. Are all Horde loyalist nothing more than pawns for you just to put yourself on a moral high ground for 5 min?
All this fuss over Derek who is nothing but a means to an end.
Worst part is that even if we’re on Baine’s side, we’re still serving Wraithu. There’s no way Derek was being transported if she wasn’t done or mostly done conditioning him.
Forsaken kill each other all the time. He would totally tell you to kill loyalists to further some scheme or reveal baine’s plan. This is the race that sent you to kill captured civilians because they were failures who got caught back in Wrath.
here is the broadcast text if you go with nathanos
"So Bloodhoof wishes to act in shadow? We must know what he is planning.
Go along with his little task, $n. You are under my protection, so do not worry if you need to get your hands dirty to keep up the ruse.
Orcs have a flavor of this too. Killing retreating commanders(admittedly incompetent ones) or allowing captured soldiers to redeem themselves by giving them a sword and sending them rushing off to their deaths. This kind of crap has always been in the Horde, it’s not just our zombie friends.
We’re pawns either way, whether it’s to assume the moral high ground for a fleeting 5 minutes with the walking beef stick or as villainous henchman for the banshee queen.
Well if he’s a means to an end, then I’m sure Sylvanas can find some other means to an end. Cuz using him as a weapon against his family IS going too fard unesiserily cruel.
