I hope you’ve levelled all the characters you intend to level to 60, because anything between that and 48 is getting a train ran on it for HK’s. I hope you didn’t want to achieve anything in the open world @60 either, because every high-traffic flight path is going to be camped 24/7 with literally no other viable alternative to farm honor at a competitive rate.
Don’t mistake me, I’m familiar with and usually enjoy World PVP. I am actually going to be one of those people occaisonally helping my boys rank up and camping people at flight points. (Not ranking up myself cos Shaman gear is trash but I digress).
My point is that from a holistic perspective, it’s bad for the game. I’ve seen enough private servers release with an honor system and without battlegrounds to know what kind of emergent player behaviour you’re going to see. These forums are going to contain endless whining about players like me camping a bunch of casual players just trying to get their quests done or farm literally anything.

what p servers released with honor and no bgs? I hope that camping flight paths isnt going to be the “bis” honor farming… That is what I fear that something boring is gonna be the best way to farm honor.
I hope its like a 2 man party ganking which will be the best honor per hour.
If you played during vanilla before BG’s came out then you would already understand the glory of world PvP that’s about to happen. This is how it happened with release too - BG’s were added in later and honor first.
I can’t wait though I now have a hard date to hit 60 by lol

I mean I disagree. I for one am stoked to see some real open world PvP prior to the BGs sucking all the PvP away from the open world. While it can often times lead to one-sided fights or mobs sweeping through wiping out all the solos, it also creates such dynamic PvP experiences that BGs simply are incapable of providing. I get so bored with the prescribed experience offered by BGs that I’m glad the open world stuff won’t get overshadowed with the introduction of honor.

Most of the ‘hardcore’ are level 60 and decked out in raid gear. They wlll slaughter the casuals who will eventually get frustrated and stop playing Classic. Isn’t that the point?

I’d rather get camped at a flight path indefinitely than watch that cinematic again
as someone who identifies as five elemental shaman i have been camping flight paths since before i even hit 60. lights hope chapel? i have slaughtered thousands there already. the entrance to black rock mountain? my sacrificial grounds littered with the corpses of any foolish alliance dumb enough to think they should be allowed to run an instance. the entrance to scarlet monestary? a graveyard of untold millions.
What’s coming is going to be what allows Blizzard to release bg’s before Christmas.

Gear doesn’t matter as much as number of players. A geared class will still get steamrolled by 5 level 50’s in greens.

You do you man. It’s not like I haven’t done the same thing when the mood has striked me. It is one thing however to do that just for your own jollies, and another thing entirely to put a huge gearing and progression incentive for that behaviour, and to continue that behaviour for hours on end.
I’m not too worried about it. I only ever get ganked by alliance if they’re at least 6 or 7 levels higher than me and in a squad. And even then I sometimes manage to take one down with me.
I guess it’ll be a bit tougher in the 50’s when I try to get my last levels. But I prefer to level in instances anyways. And I’m leveling so slowly it might even be phase 3 by then lol.
Also, I’m pretty bad at pvp. I just keep running into allies who are EXCEPTIONALLY worse than me even at higher levels. It’s weird.

Choo choo Bs.
Kidding…
But hopefully if you’re on a PVP server players will come from major cities to help fight back… resulting in some great epic PVP brawls.
I know in a lot of places people will just roll over and play dead, but places like Hillsbrad will be awesome.
These complaints always seem to come from a place of either not remembering playing back in the day or not playing back in the day. Yes not being 60 is not the best way to be when the honor is out but people act like everyone was max level and no one had to level up while getting killed in PvP. God forbid you encounter some resistance on your path to 60 and the game isn’t a cake walk the entire time. Don’t play on a PvP server or just be happy we get credit for killing others now.

I know a geared 60 mage can steamroll two maybe three level 50+ in Searing Gorge.

lol. Classic is not vanilla. The timescale is off, the realms are supersized, and the incentives and motivations are different.
I’m guessing that hardcore players (like the streamers) going for rank are going to try to accumulate as much honor as they can before BGs kick in. Once BGs kick in, the race gets wide open.

Well, I’ll just stop playing until BG are released. Doesn’t matter. The servers will still be here in 6 months.
And on Skeram, I’m looking forward for QQ from horde “Where are all alliance players ?” Well, we’ll be playing other games.
People have been asking for world PVP without BGs with an honor system for more than 14 years at this point and they are getting it.
Just embrace it and get over it.

4+ is when things get dicey, even for mages. Regardless, one person is not going to make much of a difference in a zerg or versus a coordinated party of lowbies.
I wonder if people in vanilla acted this way once Honor was created? Since Classic is to try and recreate that vanilla experience. Why cant you just be happy. 99.99% of private servers wouldnt give you the time of day on this and would allow donations for thunderfury. I for one will be happy to see world pvp groups and city raids for leader farming and town raids for hk farms.
I joined vanilla after BG’s and can’t wait for the Wpvp, we will get to spend every single hour in BGs from phase 3 to forever, try to enjoy this while its around.
