Honor issues and solutions

Perspective of a HWL horde player thats been grinding BGs since they came out, and not some PVE edgelord

The current honor rain gate is currently substandard for both horde and alliance. It’s not unprecedented that horde suffers more because of queue times. Now most solutions I see here are inadequate, and likely derived from past anger towards the opposite faction.

The idea to “reroll alliance” is trivial in theory but in retrospect it’s not something elementary. You would have to give up hours of gameplay which requires effort, friends & community that you’ve been integrated with, and gear you’ve attained in order to “queue BGs”. The argument that this faction imbalance resulted from “muh horde has better racials” is subjective. Subjectivity results in delusions, and bias. The subjectivity comes from the fact that racials and determining which ones are “better” isn’t achievable quantitatively, but qualitatively which collapses any bull argument that “muh horde racials>ally racials” because it’s all based on oppositional bias. The games you lose, you’ll blame the opposite faction’s racials. The games you win however you’ll give yourself a pat on the back for being on the “inferior” faction.

There also goes the fact that people just like horde for other reasons. People shouldn’t be forced to play a faction they never chose in the first place in order to play the game.

Solutions that blizzard could implement have already been mentioned by several members, those of which include:

  • normalization of honor (use a linear relationship between queue times and honor gains)
  • reputation for gear
  • mercenary mode
  • reducing the honor cost of gear
  • adding honor to arenas (skirmishes and rated)
  • buff honor in general

Alliance has nothing to lose except for getting beat in Arenas for being on a neutral battle ground.

Lol I’ve known many r14 players who were PVE edgelords.

Kill Alliance why don’t you.

Both unfair to those who have already grinded.

Nah just rated don’t be scared.

Ye nothing to lose expect a player base that slowly dies off because Horde needs everything in the game else they cry on the forums.

Typical response from a non-stem educated fella whose complete opinion is based off rage. What did horde do to you? Did they camp you that hard because your lack of skill? Now lets destroy your strawman arguments:

Lol I’ve known many r14 players who were PVE edgelords.
Sorry, who said ALL r14 players aren’t pve edgelords? the statement denoted at the prologue only suggests that I am not an edge lord who’s also a rank 14 HWL.

Kill Alliance why don’t you.
There’s none.

Both unfair to those who have already grinded.
I’ve grinded over 150k honor and I feel this way. This argument is subjective, and the inverse argument can be suggested as well.

Typical response from someone who is using an alt to post. I’m doing fine thank you enjoying arenas very much.

Sorry if you dont like it but if you give horde every single advantage in the game the Alliance faction will only die faster and the ques will get worse.

Your arguments are strawmans at best resulting from a terrible experience from being blasted by horde when you got off your flightpath because you couldn’t figure out what set of buttons to execute in order to successfully stay alive.

that’s just skill. In any moment of time, there exists a set of buttons you can press in order to achieve a win.

Where did it suggest that you where not a rank 14 HWL you clearly are.

Finally an Alliance player who sees common sense.

What is the issue, exactly? The TBC classic honor gains are accurate to the original TBC expansion. How is that an issue?

What are you basing this on? You don’t know anything about my skill level or server.

This doesn’t give you a better perspective.

The honor grind was meant to be awful. The TBC honor system was better than the HWL/GM grind because it was no longer a BID SYSTEM. So if the gear requires 80 hours a week for a couple weeks, you aren’t going to not get it because a congaline of people put in 120-168 hours a week.

Same thing your arguments are based on, intuition and bs.

So you wont even check my arena rating?

Zinqf you’re missing the point. The HWL system was based on relative gains, and those gains were quantified through breakpoints. Meaning it doesn’t matter what the Q times were, everyone got the gear theoretically at the same time in a perfect world.

alliance now has the upper hand in arenas because of this, and it’s not fair to the opposite faction. It also doesn’t feel rewarding beating teams because they aren’t geared.

OP clearly is blaming his 0-40 win ratio on not having every single PVP piece in the game.

Nothing to see here folks.

That’s precisely my point. You don’t want horde to gear so you can keep your precious mediocre rating.

You dont need every single pvp piece to get about 1200 rating my friend.

People predicted this before Classic launched. A BG Hero could have made this decision to play Alliance a long time ago rather than to rely on the “sunk cost” excuse.

You want Horde to earn more honor than Alliance because they sat in a queue? WHAT?!

Just lol.

I’m 1800 rated enhancement shaman with a meme comp, running 120 res. LOL.

Bingo.

Also most Alliance on this forum seem to base their RL identity on this Faction and want to screw over horde as if we aren’t a part of the same community.

Wow so good damn mb you are amazing.
