I would complain about fire mage bursting for 30k in arena.
But i think what surprises me the most this season is rets doing 17-19k SUSTAINED dps for an entire match. I noticed even monks unable to heal through burst.
I would like to add the addition of maladicts with 18k sustained dps creates a mathematically impossible healing to damage ratio in some scenerios
Can we please get some changes blizzard?

I recently tried to cc a ret during wings.
He had another set of wings in 10-15 seconds…

Are you guys seriously complaining about ret right now? Roots, kiting, run. Spellsteal his freedom as mage. Roll away as monk. Neither of you should have any issue with ret at all.
SAD!

Ret doesn’t do 20k sustained dps because they should barely be able to connect on you in the first place.

Correct. If you can’t kite or CC a ret paladin, you deserve to lose. Don’t go toe to toe with a ret that has wings up. This is a l2p issue.
The “second set” is from a PVP talent and lasts six seconds (more like 4.5 since it’s on the GCD)
Prob is you’re wrong… They do keep that dps up easily while on you. Oh, and the whole " just kite" the ret works with classes that can actually do that.
Ret dps needs lowered and given a little more mobility.
Is this for real? Of all the things to complain about you complain about the wheelchair melee? They put the same numbers as ww IF they connect, how on earth do people in the current meta let a ret just tunnel.
Where’s that odd 1 phrase gnome mage?

20k on wings, bursting… yeah probably, if you let them hit you.
Sustained? Nope. That’s a lie.
How does a destro warlock kite a ret ? I’ve gone vs rets that actually do 20k sustained to the warlocks i’ve played with pre demon armor nerf
They won’t really kite him but they will be able to fear spam/use coils/etc defensively on wings and then from there all they need to do is just survive. If they have to kick a fear to try to keep their damage up it actually just opens them up for a window where you can just infernal and counterpressure them because now you can chaos bolt for free for example and then punish them for the aggression so it’s moreso that warlock is able to do just enough that they won’t ever die and win those trades.
Hilariously even though rets do incredible damage and on paper should actually be really good because DKs/Destro warlocks are both specs that ret paladins are good against because they’ll have uptime on them - both these specs just end up being so tanky that usually no one dies. Realistically the simple weakness to ret is that it’s weak defensively.
I think that actually does show how wrong damage pacing is in general when rets actually do absurd damage but even then they aren’t very good because they can die and the game pace in general is just really slow. It’s actually hilarious to me that their damage is this high yet they’re still useless vs the specs that they should be better against on paper.
Demon armor nerfs don’t matter at all btw when ret damage is mostly holy. They’re still doing the same exact damage they were doing before to them.

I can do much more than 20k dps to a target dummie.
But target dummies don’t have purge or blink and hard cc. Also wizards 1 shot rets xD
Imagine be afraid of death every single kidney shot, might be hard for some but I assure you rets are afraid of every kidneyshot.
You’re correct in that ret currently does NOT have a great place in the meta, but it is also a pretty horrible design with double wings etc
Ya but if rets didn’t do scary damage when they actually manage to waddle over to you then you might as well just delete the spec since they have literally nothing else.
yeah the fact that u can do 2 goes back to back, and with lights decree have 5 sec added onto wings to make it 25 or 30 isn’t a great design, rets flop really easily and like dilly said any class they can stick too happens to be immortal this season
ret dps in arenas is often misleading since they don’t really have dots and will spend time healing and sitting in bops and bubbles which doesn’t seem to affect their details dps, if you look at their overall dmg they tend to be fairly in line with many other classes
i admit i may have over stated that - but i have seen 17k-18k sustained. That is not a lie.
