Normally I don’t really care about these maintenance delays but this has been going on for a month straight now and it’s just become emblematic of the more widespread technical issues the game has had lately.
Yeah, I understand it’s a 20 yo game and that at this stage messing with its code in even the slightest way can cause a lot of unintended consequences but at some point you just can’t keep excusing repeated failures with “oh well, happens.”
The very least they can do is start maintenance earlier. The rest of the world shouldn’t be penalized because Blizzard is headquartered in California.
P.S. I am not in the least bit biased because I live in New York.
1900 layoffs for xbox and blizzard employees in September 2024. So yeah. I suspect as a business standpoint, they fired a lot of the core developers or maintenance crew like you said and got younger or cheaper or their own people. And have a very large gap in experience with these systems, because this never used to be such a huge ordeal each reset. Especially the frequency or durations.
Sadly, I remember that one! lol
The most annoying thing right now is the webpage shows green across-the-board for the realms being up, but then you go to login. It says there are no realms available. That’s annoying.

What are you talking about? I don’t work for Blizzard, never have. None of you are my “customers”.
[/quote]I think the people want people representing them with green tags not being company apologists.
And its extended again to 1pm…3rd week in a row(since I have come back to the game). just schedule the maintenance from 7am - 1pm like I stated earlier. The fact that they ninja extend their times is rude. They lack actual respect for the people that actually fund them. Like any company there is only 1 department that actually makes them money their customer, all the other departments are the spenders.
its estimations. says it clearly. we estimate times to take this. i personally liked the over shooting estimations model they used for a tiny bit but i guess people got mad that when they got turned on earlier than expected anyone who knew they were turned on early had some advantage. when you cant win you cant win. might as well not play and just put up 1 hour and hope for the best. hour by hour is what we get.
its crap CS and you can’t convince me otherwise. If i ran a business and said i was going to be closed from midnight to 7 am and people showed up at 9 am and i was still closed i would get a bad rep.
It’s wild, until I moved to a place with actual seasons as opposed to “Hot” and “Mildly less hot”, with changing leaves and stuff, I totally wasn’t into soup at all. Now, when the leaves start to turn and it starts to get cold I’m like, “Hey, you know what would be awesome right now? SOUP.”
“If you want to play with a more broken game, you’re welcome too,” LMFAO WoW has been broken for decades and it is NEVER, EVER going to be fixed…but yes as the original person posted extended maintenance is annoying but as anyone who’s been playing WoW for a long time knows, there is no guarantee ever as to how long it will take “them” to do their thing.
