So you’re insinuating that LGBTQ+ are the ‘lowest common denominator’?

Big gamer move.

The problem with bothsidesism is that it doesn’t work.

A bigot and an anti-bigot aren’t the same because both are intolerant, because to be tolerant of bigotry and intolerance is to promote that intolerance.

“Different views” are not all equal. If your views are based on denying a person’s humanity and/or rights, there is no argument to be had. This is pretty basic.

why are you here, out of all the threads in the entirety of the forums?

Pretty much agree with all the rational heads in here and the few rather unfortunate times I’ve seen homophobia rp’d out, I can’t say it did anything to make the environment or situation feel more realistic or round out a jerk character’s flaws to be believable. Most of the time it’s to make a character’s sexuality something to ridicule or insult baselessly, so idk who anyone was really fooling with any of that. It’s shallow and disrespectful to LGBT that very much have to contend with homophobia in their real life that don’t want to deal with it in a game they likely come to for fun, myself included.

And people can call it pandering if they want, but I agree more so that Blizzard’s finally trying to have a spine about this and put their foot down. It’s been pretty indicative for a long, long time what kind of people lurk in blizzard’s fanbases and have taken silence over the years as either silent approval or enabling when they pile on any criticism, frustration, or any kind of comment from LGBT fans. That’s not to mention the outrage that always bubbles up when it comes to decisions that aim at increasing diversity that they don’t like.

So Those Kind of People coming in acting all indignant and claiming both sides, nah. Take your L, go publish an amazon book about it or something.

Didn’t mean to offend your side, my comment was directed at those who complain at Blizzard doing something like this.

“Your side”, so you admit you’re not on our side? Can you just leave? We are trying to bully a homophobe one at a time

Not offended, just curious.

But yes, there’s a lot of energy some people put into having homophobia exist when it’s so much easier to just say it doesn’t.

that’s honestly how i took it lol

why get mad about gay people when u can get mad about bad writing? it’s much more productive.

Unfortunately, I do not speak English as my main speaking language, if my grammar offended you, I’m sorry.

It doesn’t exist in Azeroth. If your character is homophobic to mine, I’m going to emote cleaving them in half, and then I’m going to blacklist you. I’ll tell everyone else to blacklist you too.

Get out of my community.

No need to apologize for that, but you understand how saying “I don’t care about LGBTQIA+ representation” could be taken the wrong way in a thread where people do not care about LGBTQIA+ representation

I mean…

If your argument is that you want there to be homophobia in canon so you can be mad about it rather than because you’re a homophobe… Well, I guess that’s not as straight up evil, but it’s not really any less messed up. That’s still gonna be a hard pass from me dawg.

I would rather have not had to deal with homophobia so bad growing up that I ended up wanting to harm myself even for the sake of my character development. I would have much rather grown up in a world where homophobia was nonexistent and people accepted and loved me regardless.

So homophobia as a story writing tool is dumb to me. It’s not good

One last post from me, because I’m tired of this.

I’m not being diplomatic about this anymore.
