I know you’re being sarcastic but we would all probably agree to that
“Oh yeah? Well how would you guys like a game with less rape? HUH???”
That’s you. That’s how you sound.
I am not being sarcastic, it seems to me like it is the same sort of category of subject matter that has no place in a fantasy universe that hopes to be a nice environment for all sorts of people. The fact that it has been repeatedly written into the setting is terrible
I formally retract and apologize for my previous statement.
The weirdest part is that it’s written in and then sometimes just kind of tucked away with the most lame wave of a “please don’t remember this” wand again sometimes.
I think that the fact there is actual sexual violence in this game says what we need to know about it and the people who have written it in the past.
I never talked about homophobia specifically, i was talking about evil things as a whole. Do your self a favor and improve your reading comprehension skills before answering.
I don’t understand why people have to talk like this.
Reading comprehension is in part, reading between the lines and using surrounding context to understand what the writer means. In this case, he was referring to homophobia in his reference to evil things because that’s what we’re talking about. If he didn’t mean that, then he’s in the wrong thread and I don’t know what the heck he’s talking about lol
I apologize for misunderstanding!
You were just talking about “evil things as a whole” and not homophobia, then? I hope you will be glad to hear that lots of evil things like rape murder and slavery abound in the warcraft universe for you to enjoy!
The writers simply choose which real-life evils are in this fictional world and which aren’t. There are so many evils in the real world to keep track of, I think we can forgive them that not every single one is included.
I think its worth noting that this is not a new phenomenon though: even as far back as the vanilla game manual they decided sexism would not be a thing in their universe, though one might argue it is a “realistic” evil to include.

Attempting to discredit your opponents by attacking vague foundations of their education is basically the first page of !@#$head Debate 101. It’ll usually have nothing to do with what is being said, and lets the attacker shuffle their index cards around while you ponder how you misunderstood them - since they sure don’t feel like telling you.
Do yourself a favor and educate yourself on international maritime law before answering, sweetheart.
This thread has been a journey but I am glad Blizz did this. Good on them.
Just going to say that the whole tolerate the the intolerable thing gets me so steamed. Both sides are not the same. That is just stupid.
i like that you had time and the potential effort to think about anything past your own nose about why some people might see taking the other side/devil’s advocate stance in this particular instance as a pretty, pretty bad thing
but instead of thinking about the other people behind the keyboards you just come back with a “i watch rick and morty, me have big brain”
Not to mention it’s classist and ableist
Because he has no actual argument.
He doesn’t even go here!
yeah but what if like a crocolisk ate someone tho
alexa play despacito
At the heart of it, one also has to question why these people operate under the assumption that green-skinned Conan aliens, cow people, Amazonian elves, and literal zombies would all simultaneously have the exact same Christian hangups about gender and sex.
Like, we already know the answer - because they assume that everyone, everywhere have the exact same Christian hangups - but if we want to talk realism…
Listen when I play Warcraft I expect realiam.
Shaman Cows? Fine
Hot Light Demons? Yes!
Aliens? A Ok
Orbital Lasers and Spaceships? Gimme!
No one giving a #% who you bone? Now hold up, that’s a bridge too far. Immersion Ruined.
