Sorry I’ll call BS on this - even on practice dummy my dps was 2.2-2.3M dps on a full 2 minute go - now I’m lucky to get 1.8M - and that’s on patchwork sim. When things are moving around/cc’ing/slowing there’s 0 chance of getting numbers like that. Radiant decrees hitting for 250k? Yea, pretty busted but I played 200 rounds (50+ matches) of RSS and got a RD crit to hit like that in maybe 5 rounds. So, 5 rounds out of 300 were won by rng crits - now there’s no counter pressure from our burst so you get to be trained even harder because there is 0 drawback to training a squishy that now has ok burst.
Tuning down burst that has a 10% chance to crit - ok cool whatever. But then you nerf our sustain, you nerf our PvP talent because it was making holy paladin have wings up too often, and you gave us a 10% damage reduction on a skill we can’t even take because the cooldown is longer than Shield of Paper by nearly 50%. And THEN, the “buffs” you gave didn’t even make it into patch because Crusader Noodle is hitting for even less than it was (cause you know, reduced primary trinket stat bonus) and they buffed Exorcism which just doesn’t even belong in our already bloated pvp rotation (and that too doesn’t have increased damage in pvp as far as I can tell).
They dumpstered Ret - to say otherwise is just patently false

Hit some poor soul with a 115k wake of ashes. I missed that ability.
You forgot to mention they made changes allows Final verdict to be disarmed, and our answer to emerald communion (blind) no longer affects it.
Otherwise pretty spot on.

OK dude, I know they dumpstered on ret, but it wasn’t a 25-30% nerf.

Oh yea I’ll also add in the fact that on my patchwork prior to the patch I didn’t even have my 2 piece - my test post patch that at best barely broke 1.8M was with my 2 piece. Simple math shows that my patchwork is 22% less damage - my 2 piece made up probably 2-3% so yes, I’d be willing to bet large sums of money that my damage was nerfed 25%.
This doesn’t take into account that the things they “buffed” didn’t make it live, but Crusader Noodle wasn’t going to be a huge dps increase regardless. You’re trying to downplay what occurred but regardless we never should have received even a 15% damage reduction, let alone 22-25% which is exactly what my own personal testing provided. It definitely goes in-line with what Vanguardz said on his stream as I watched him plummet while trying to play 3s with one of the strongest melee classes right now (Arms) trying to carry him.

explain on this…I didnt know this??shadow nerfs?
Which thing. Emerald communion now can be used while blinded or feared, and those affects don’t stop it.
Disarm now makes JV,TV, and FV all unusable which makes it even easier to gimp ret burst than it was previously. Which yes, wasn’t apart of the notes.
It’s hard to even compile the full list of negative things that happened to ret.
50% nerf to lawbringer
100% nerf to aura of reckoning
33% nerf to final decree which reduced the burst and sustain significantly
20% nerf to final reckoining which was 8% nerf to the spell if you don’t count the 15% buff 2 weeks ago.
The burst spec has no counter to emerald communion now.
The list goes on. I’m not certain this isn’t the biggest nerf a spec has received this xpac. Which is saying something considering how hard rogues, dh, spriest, and dk have been hit for being twice as strong as the field at different times lol

It was good in legion, pretty good in cata. It was horrible when they slapped 20sec cd on wog in 4.1, and it only got reduced to 10sec in 4.2. So they were pretty good in s9, at the late half of s10 with 4.2, and pretty solid in s11.
In wod, they were pretty insane in the first month of s1 then got hit by a massive nerf and they were only fine for the rest of the expansion, like a b+ against wizards and A vs melee cleave. Gameplay was insanely fun, but damage wasnt really there.
lol imagine how feral feels rn
I remember that. It was shockingly silly.
I understand the disappointment and frustration that comes with the recent nerfs to the Retribution Paladin specialization. It can be disheartening to see changes that affect the playstyle you have come to enjoy. However, I believe that there is a solution, and that solution is to swap to the superior Protection Paladin specialization.
Protection Paladins have always been known for their versatility and dependability in both PVP and PVE. They possess a unique combination of tanking and healing abilities, which allows them to hold the attention of multiple enemies, shield and heal allies, and control the battlefield. This versatility makes them a valuable asset to any raid or PVP team, and their ability to take on a significant amount of damage makes them a dependable tank.
Additionally, Protection Paladins have a wide range of abilities that can be used in different situations, making them more adaptable to changes in the game. They also have a variety of talents that can be customized to fit the player’s playstyle.
In short, if you are feeling disheartened by the recent nerfs to Retribution Paladin, I would encourage you to consider switching to the Protection Paladin specialization. It offers a versatile and dependable option for both PVP and PVE and the ability to adapt to changes in the game.
I believe you mistyped your numbers as you probably meant 100-0 button
The highest radiant decree I saw was around like 230kish? That put it around 60~70%? Definitely a bit too much IMO but definitely wasn’t a literal 1 shot.
I played both my rets to 2.1 in SS around 2.2-2.4 mmr then stopped once I was vault capped, the burst felt okay at that rating but would definitely be an issue at higher ratings. Also I didn’t do nearly as well into melee cleaves as I feel I should have. IMO revert aura of reckoning and lawbringing change, make divine protection baseline and make divine steed free you and make you immune to movement impairing effects and rets are B or maybe even A tier again.
I am gonna cry SO LOUD if they don’t FIX ME!!!

Don’t listen to the cow rets with brains want that rework and not be a 1shot 2 min burst Andy with no mobility.
Woah you must be better at ret then vanguards! What’s ur cr on your ret?;0. Oh wait! You haven’t pvped this season and you never even made it past challenger in SL! and OH LOOK HERE you don’t even play Paladin . Don’t put ur notes in without actual time invested information plZ thnx.
So good they don’t even pvp!.
And that’ll be the only big chunk of lucky dmg youll do, while the other 50 dps specs other then a couple r doing that dmg x2 back to back :). With 3x the survivalbility/mobility
Ferals are still pumping decently bro lol… Just gonna have to run a ferocious bite build.
When they released the talent trees initially I was pushing hard to keep vanquishers hammer but other people didn’t want it apparently. That button gave us good pressure every 30 seconds and amazing pressure if you knew how to time aura of reckoning with it.
I miss that button so much. If it were up to me I’d add vanq hammer back to how it was in s3 and s4 of SL, have final reckoning removed and buff final verdict and divine storm a bit to compensate. That playstyle with the buffs I listed above would make ret feel amazing to me and it’d probably put us at the top of A tier again.
Don’t try to make reference to Vanguards in backing your crying that rets are weak.
u don’t get to call anything a noob stomper if ur a noob
