I’m hoping to hear back from a support rep as soon as possible regarding an issue with the sale price not showing up when my husband is attempting to purchase Heroic Shadowlands. He’s tried to make the purchase through the shop in game and here in Blizzards shop on their WoW website, but the sale price of 33% off does not show, only the regular price of 79.99 shows. When he attempted to make the purchase through the in game shop, the price was showing at $84.99. Needless to say, my husband has not made the purchase yet but is getting very frustrated (the swear jar if filling up very quickly that’s how frustrated he is) trying to buy Shadowlands. I very much appreciate some assistance with this issue please. Thank you.
Did he get as far as checkout - that is usually where it shows up.
He didn’t get to the checkout part as he was afraid that he may accidently purchase the game without the holiday discount. One thing that I would like to know though, when my husband tried to make the purchase of Heroic Shadowlands through the in game shop, the regular price showed as $84.99 when the price on the website here for Heroic Shadowlands is $79.99. That confused both my husband and myself. Why would the in game shop give a different price than the website here does?
My husband just had me go on his account to try and make the in game purchase and once I click on the Heroic Shadowlands priced at $79.99 it goes to the checkout page with a final price of $84.99. It does not show the discounted price which should be $53.59 (before taxes) at all and there is no indication that 33% will be applied to the purchase.
I don’t see the expansion listed as being on sale anywhere. The boost is on sale for 33% off, but the site is showing Shadowlands at full price for me.
As for the price difference, is it possible that the in-game version is showing the price with tax included?
I’m thinking the $84.79 is with tax included.
Same. That would account for a 6% sales tax.
Waiting on a response from Orlyia to her question of “Did he get as far as checkout”.
I think everything got answered for you which is probably why she hasn’t replied again.
Your husband seems to be seeing the correct price for the expansion.
As pointed out, the sale is not for the base game.
33% off Shadowlands-Level Character Boost
There comes a time in every hero’s quest when they need a helping hand to get them over the hump and right back into the action. With the Shadowlands-Level Character Boost**, you can instantly grant one character a one-time boost to level 50, so they’re ready to begin their journey into the newest chapter of the World of Warcraft story. Bring your hero up to speed and get ready for your next thrilling adventure!
But what he’s not seeing is the 33% holiday discount. Would you be willing to blindly hit the purchase button on an item that has a holiday discount but the checkout page only shows the final price of the regular pricing?
Not sure what you mean - he’s seeing the correct price. There is no holiday discount on the game itself
I believe I had stated that he is trying to purchase the Heroic Shadowlands not the base game only. Both the Heroic version and the Epic version has the Level Character Boost. So my husband should be seeing the 33% off the $79.99 price for the Heroic Shadowlands version but he’s not seeing it.
All of the different versions of the game are still buying the game.
The discount is on buying a separate, stand-alone character boost.
Then tell me Tofflemire, what is the 33% holiday discount on then if not the price of either Heroic Shadowlands version or Epic Shadowlands version?
The character boost as a separate service.
The sale is for the stand alone boost item, not the game. The game does come with one free boost though.
The price you are seeing is because the game itself is not on sale.
Ah, ok. That clears things up then. Thank you for clarifying that there is a separate item being sold for boosting the character level only. I was not aware that character boosts were available for purchase. I was also not aware that the character boosts regularly cost $75.00. That is most definitely one item that neither my husband nor myself will be purchasing whether it’s regular price or on sale for 33%. Blizzard should have included a holiday discount for the game as well. They probably would have had a hell of a lot of sales on the game if they had done a holiday discount on the game as well.
Getting the boost through purchasing the heroic version is definitely much cheaper than buying them separately, even with the discount.
I was hoping the sale would include the base game myself, but I can understand seeing as it hasn’t been out that long. If it came out on the original release date then maybe they would’ve.
The level boost is regularly $60, on sale for $39.99 (33% discount). It has never cost $75.
The OP is Canadian
The boost is $75 here to account for the difference between the US and CDN currencies.
