Hoist the Sails, a Plunderstorm Has Arrived!

I’m seeing that a lot. Players that normally wouldn’t bother to say anything are coming here to voice their dissatisfaction.

Probably because the FF devs are able to keep their player base happier than the WoW devs. FF has its fair share of criticism and belligerent players, but they are able to keep their player base more content by being open and keeping their promises.

WoW devs, on the other hand, continually make excuses and deliver sleuths of broken promises. Not just in WoW but in other games too, looking at OW2 story missions and PVE. Players will put up with more stuff as long as they feel the game is going in the write direction. The direction with WoW no one even knows

I immediately thought of “Delves” the moment I read your comment. IDK what’s worse, SL inspired features (Delves gave me Torghast vibes but with a pirate coat of paint), or Delves being BR.

yo… I was keep repeating same thing ( everyone’s satisfaction) you never get the point, and trying to pursuade others without any logical reasons that we all can understand… you just read what you want to read only. I can see the copies you just cut out all the points listed. see? you are not reading properly or you just trying to respond something you can answer but cut off something unable to answer…
now answer me, what do you think? the world event should have to be satisfy eveyone here bcuz we are all payed players. PvPer’s satifaction? how about PvE players satisfaction? do you think this is fair enough to everyone ( just getting hunted by PvPers?)

That’s how it should be in a pve based game.

Everyone from retail or classic, with a max level toon or without, players with UI modded to look like a F-22 HUD and players that don’t know what an addon is, can all zone in and instantly play it on the same footing as everyone else.

This describes why I hate world PvP and transferred to PvE servers many years ago. I just want to get my PvE done without interference from PvP. This also confirms that I would never want to even try Plunderstorm. Anything where I can be attacked while doing PvE is not for me. I wish I could hide the icon from the character select screen so that I don’t have to look at it.

But even if you are not into PvE, it is still more open to everyone. PvE may not be everyone’s favorite play-style, but it does require you to constantly be looking over your shoulder. You can do PvE activities in Plunderstorm, but you still flagged and worried that you can be just jumped on any moment. It’s stress inducing that’s why PvE doesn’t mix well with PvP, only one side benefits from it. Don’t think that it even fun for the PvP players unless they like free kills as they’re no challenge from the other side.

This is an event that could have two options for playing, and then everyone gets an opportunity for their style of fun. It is not fun to be left out cause you don’t like the way it played.

Yep, and considering it was hyped up to be something for everyone to enjoy, I think it’s understandable that some people are feeling let down. I do think that 2 separate modes could have nipped this issue in the bud.

The biggest gripe with pvp is the gear disparity. With this, everyone is on a level playing field and you can just pick up and get in.

That’s always been my gripe or one class is better than another. Sure some spells are slightly better than others but some can be negated.

I have honestly not tried it yet. Might give it a whirl. The comments on the time investment for the rewards are making me sad, though. I don’t want to have to choose between this at the expense of playing actual WoW with my gaming time.

That aside, the mentality of the “limited time” part of this just makes me scratch my head. How much development time and effort was put into this brand new game style to make it only last a few weeks? If I was tasked with making this, I’d feel like I wasted my time if I spent months developing this for it to be whisked away in a virtual blink of an eye.

Why is that an appeal in a game that focuses on having a main and expansion long progression of your character(s)?

There are plenty of “jump in and play” types of games out there. Wow’s strength is it’s character progression.

This is completely different form of PvP, which is better for those who are interested in a change from the WoW definition.

It’s the rewards that were slapped on that are getting in the way of people just playing for the enjoyment. Then negative feedback comes from the crowd who just want the items.

So, they play a game they already know they’re going to hate, which just increases their negativity. Then they go to the forums to tell how much they hate Plunderstorm even though they knew what to expect.

I feel bad for those that are enjoying themselves cause this start for a new game style is not looking good, which could impact a potential future of other games.

The action bar does not react to mouse clicks and because of this reason, the controls suck.

I did three rounds, gave it a chance, meh, I’m out.

Glad its a temporary event, its really lackluster.

uhm…no they wont since most of them are in their 70’s late 60’s early 80’s.

I think that clearly states how much people are enjoying paying for you to develop a phone game that’s basically not wow related at all… along with 30$ Plunderstorm t-shirts.

It not the amount of likes that Blizzard going to look at when they show how popular this was to the shareholders. As long are player counts and retention are hight they’ll call it a win.

True, but it should be significant to the players witnessing it, which admittedly are few in the grand scheme.

This is why I’m neither liking their post or playing the mode.
