[H/N-RP Campaign] Twilight Genesis, July 15th-22nd

Graphic Template by Sonceri

With the eyes of Azeroth cast toward the Dragon Isles, Twilight’s Hammer has once again resurfaced. Sightings of twilight drakes have again been reported by both Highbank and Dragonmaw Port, while claims have been made that some have already slain a select few of the beasts. But these were not old, wily creatures who somehow had remained unseen for a dozen years. These were adolescents. A whole new brood of Twilight Drakes have been born. Goriona, the twilight drake who once served as the mount of Warmaster Blackthorn, after abandoning her master to his fate, had left a clutch of eggs hidden deep inside a cavern in the Twilight Highlands before going into hiding herself.

The Coalition of the Horde presents: Twilight Genesis!

Three months to do the Twilight Highlands quests? Easy. I’ll still leave it to the night before though I’m sure

Allies for Twilight Genesis!

Nails bit into the soft dirt, strong fingers digging furrows in the soil, as the scarred hand felt the turmoil within the land. The orcish woman was crouched, her head cocked to the side as if listening to something. To others they were just the sounds of nature, but to her each of the elements had their own song, their own speech. And it was to them that she, Duzharac Drake-Mender, shaman of the Nelghor-shomash, heeded.

There was a change in the air, in the earth, and it disturbed her. She could feel the cries for help that had gone unvoiced, and it was her duty to see that whatever had caused this disturbance was confronted and destroyed. Or she would die trying. She pressed her palm against the ground. ”Bin mog g’thazag cha,” she spoke softly in her gravelly voice as she stood and pulled her wolf’s pelt cloak around her shoulders. It was time for her to seek out new allies.

”Bin mog g’thazag cha.” I will protect you.

Stay tuned for more stories and information for the upcoming Twilight Genesis Campaign, presented by the Coalition of the Horde! As always, feel free to ask questions!

Hello! Just a small preview of one way we’re trying to shake-up how d20 events are done. For Twilight Genesis, players will be able to choose to opt-into a more challenging system to add more interesting elements to their play and recovery. There are three facets to this system, and players can pick any number of them to add to their play if they choose.

Heroic Events are missions of a dire nature. For these events, the DM will throw higher difficulty checks and heavier damage at players, creating a full-range of mechanics designed to not only make OCs feel like they are in dire straits, but also reward opportunities for heroic actions, and encourage cooperation to ensure every character leaves the event in one piece.

Limited Healing between missions. Unlike previously, players who pick this option do not full heal at the start of everyday. They will get a 1d3 dice roll to heal with rest, and an additional +3 HP if they were seen to by a medic.

Exhaustion. At the start of normal mission day, the player can roll to see how much sleep their character got. Not being well rested enough will give the character a debuff which can compound with multiple days of poor rest.

A full document will be posted soon in the Coalition of the Horde discord!

Meeting went great tonight! We’re getting down to the wire!

It was awesome to see the sheer numbers of folks who came out for the meeting. A full raid group and then some, and that’s with a bunch of folks who were unable to come despite wanting to.

The enthusiasm is great and fantastic to see!

What: The final call to arms is being called for Twilight Genesis!
Who: All hands. All interested parties from the Horde, Neutrals, and those of the Alliance willing to lend their aid.
Where: We are proxying Ashran as a Horde mustering grounds that all friendly factions shall be welcome in the name of this mission, in the Horde barracks at 47, 23 (Attached screenshot).
When: July 10th at 8pm CST/ST.

Lok’tar! We are very close to the start of this campaign! Please ensure that if you are interested in attending, you have completed the Twilight Highlands questline. There will be some events that will not experience phasing, but as this is in a Cata zone, we can never be sure.

The humidity of the caverns clung to his scales. Vorkalth felt his wings slacken as he stared upon Aberrus. A sting lanced through his heart. It felt like an age passed while his eyes were fixed upon the edifice of the lair, its edges glowing scarlet from the cascades of bubbling magma. The orange glow lit up the dark caverns; stung his eyes as he stared.

“…What now?” A quiet voice broke the heavy veil of silence. Vorkalth finally tore his eyes from the malefic laboratory to peer at the speaker. A sortie of Sundered Flame was behind him. Countless pairs of reptilian eyes, filled with despair, uncertainty, others steeled for the unknown to come.

“We came for our father’s legacy.” Vorkalth began, turned to them. Besides the brilliance of their eyes, the glint of their signets drew his eyes; many signified those of the Ebon Scale. Emeralds, sapphires, and rubies glinted against the din of the cavern, gold, silver, and bronze drank in that warm glow. “We continue our father’s legacy,” his voice firms. “Deathwing.”

One of the dracthyr with steeled-resolve in their eyes stepped forward. “There are other creations… an entire dragonflight; one which yields to the darkness.” This prompted an intrigued look from Vorkalth. “I heard it from the Worldbreakers! A broodmother in dwarven lands.”

“One whose goals align with ours?” Vorkalth hummed thoughtfully as he turned back to face Aberrus. He reached and removed his signets - adorned with the design of the Ebon Scales - and balled a fist around them. Harder and harder did he squeeze, the creak of distress from leather gauntlets and the trembling, clinking of the metal now held in his palm. His hand unfurled and combusted! A fire was cradled there, a hungering tongue of red-orange, but it was the wisps of deep purple which beset its contrast. The signets melted into the plume of shadowflame and molten gold dribbled from his palm to the cavern floor. “This is our power now. This gift from our father. Our umbral flame.”

Vorkalth looked to the Dracthyr that had spoken before. “Let us find the Twilight’s Hammer in the dwarven lands, and accompany the broodmother. Our… sister. We fly.”

The time nears for the expedition to be making its landfall upon the shores of the Highlands, arms and blades sharpened and ready, people and folks prepared for all that may assail them.

Madness that threatens to vomit and crawl across the landscape, threatening to overwhelm and endanger the home of a dangerous land and the balance of a precarious region.

All stand at the precipice of madness and eldritch truths, the cusp of the Twilight Genesis.

Hearken and hold yourselves fast, warriors, for the enemy will brook no weakness.
