How much hit and expertise do you need for pvp? I thought it was 5% hit and 20% expertise but I still find myself getting parried by warriors and dk’s and getting dodged by ferals and rogues all the time. Is there a way to make that never happen or it just a passive thing cuz it’s really annoying.
Players have dynamic dodge and parry values. Therefore you would need as much expertise, as the oppenent player has dodge/parry chance, to not see your abilites getting evaded. It is impossible to ever have values to completely negate these stats, especially when cooldowns like a rogues evasion come into play.
No one is actually stacking dodge or parry chance in pvp. I know some specs like feral have a passive that increases their dodge by 4% in cat/bear form, but I do not have a single point into dodge or parry but can find numerous examples of parrying people in details. I want to know if it’s possible to prevent those random dodges and parry’s from specs by allocating stats properly or if it’s just an rng thing that you can’t do anything about. Because a lot of the time they can be game losing, and I want to know if there is something I can do to prevent it.

Forceful Deflection
Requires Death Knight
Requires level 1
Increases your Parry Rating by 27% of your total Strength.
Agility users get dodge from agility. Strength users get parry from strength. So it’s not from parry or dodge directly, but rather from their main stats.
Of course it’s possible to prevent those random dodges and parries. Expertise does work in PVP to reduce dodge/parry chance. It’s just usually not a good idea because there are many situations in which players don’t have a dodge/parry chance - such as when they’re casting, when you’re hitting them from behind, when they’re stunned, or when their class doesn’t have the capability to parry.
Great question. I’ve lost hundreds of thousands of damage in a single match done due to being dodged by Night Elf Feral druids constantly (even with 5% hit and 27% expertise). Pretty rough when you’ve got your CD’s blasting you miss throw down and near your entire rotation after the fact lol.
As a rogue I been rolling with 20 expertise which reduces dodge/parry by 5%. Looking at my character sheet rogues have a base 5% to parry. Casters I believe have base 5% dodge so I think it’s worth removing that chance.
As for hit I also have just the 5%. I’d like to increase this to 7% to account for the night elf extra 2%. I miss night elves all the time and it’s annoying. Just not really enough stats to get there this season.
