I can’t remember how to attack it once it picks me up. It always faces me away from it so I can’t cast or target it. I remember this being a problem back when this was retail and can’t remember how I solved it. On my druid I can just use incarnation to go to bear and pew pew away, but my lock is screwed.
This is a bug. You’re supposed to be facing the Albatross when it yoinks you.
Tried that and facing away as well. It still puts the target behind me. =(
Sorry should clarify. When it picks you up it’s supposed to face you to the Albatross regardless of which way your character was facing. Instead it’s facing people away.
From what I have heard it is bugged, however certain classes who may have non-directional dmg abilities may be able to break out.
It worked for me on my melee monk last night
I had to hearth to escape one today, and the one in front of me had somebody too lol
I understood you. I tried every direction only to get the same result. As soon as it picks you up it spins you to face away from it.
Yup.
It’s mechanic is flipped 180 from what it should be. It always puts you the wrong way.
If you want some real laughs starfall when 3 are close to each other.
Reported it 3 times on the PTR but they didn’t fix it (as expected tbh). The same bug existed in OG PTR too, funnily enough. When you hit the albatross it gets the animation of turning towards the albatross but doesn’t update your actual character location, meaning for the game you are facing away from it. Only aoe spells can get you off.
just another bug. report it so they do nothing.
Workaround: if you really can’t find a way to hit the albatross (AoE can work but you risk hitting other birds), just Exit Game where you want to drop. When you log back in you’ll be off the bird and falling.
Huh? Just click on Exit Vehicle button.
Yeah, made that mistake and became a ping pong ball until I fell to my death. =/
D’oh! The obvious things you don’t see. Thank you.
That was just recently added.
