With a lot of the races getting customisations to represent subraces can night elves get highborne customisations to represent the shen’dralar that joined during cataclysm?
I would like to see: Jewelries, fancy hairstyles, azshara skin color, and glowing arcane tattoos.
Yes please! Especially since in The Elegy they become a much more welcomed and integral part of Night Elven society!
"When a portal whirled open, the normally reserved night elves cheered. The magi who stepped through, who until this moment had only cautiously been made welcome in Darnassus, smiled in surprise. The cheers swelled when they each opened another portal—and reached a crescendo as, over the course of several minutes (and with not a few interruptions), a dozen bears, birds, and
nightsabers came through.
Thank you, Shan’do.
“We will need your fire,” Delaryn said to two of the magi, who had introduced themselves as
Sarvonis and Ralara. “We have things to burn.”
I’d love to see a lot of longer, more regal and straight hairstyles! Also some 3-D armbands and bracelets, more circlets, and more arcane necklaces!
Something they could do is make all these jewelry options have 2 color options. Gold with arcane/purple gems to represent Highborne jewelry, and silver with blue gems to represent Elune/priestess jewelry like Tyrande wears! That way they can cover the Shen’dralar and the Priestess aesthetics with the same options!
I’d love to. Sadly, I think the Highborne were forgotten, especially when the Nightborne were introduced as Blizz focuses more on the light/druid/archer type of Night Elves.
But simple regal customization could help a lot. Jewelry not only works for Highborne, but also for Priestess.
Y’all did get some silvery jewelry alongside the leafy customizations as well. You also got something akin to Azshara’s skin color, albeit much darker.
You’re not getting arcane tattoos though. Those are nightbornes.
I do love the idea of having more smoother and elegant styles for Night Elves. Give them a couple of Nighborne/Blood Elf hairstyles and vice versa.
Another cool addition would be the ability to be a specter, like the Court of Farondis as we do see some of their members amongst the Alliance. They could do Ghosts and Night Elven Dark Rangers for Night Elves and Dark Rangers and San’layn for Blood Elves. With such a great emphasis on the dead and the afterlife this would be a great time for these additions as well.
“If you want traditional Highborne fantasy, the Horde is waiting for y-”
Seriously.
Please.
It’s like Blizzard forgot that the Night Elves let the few remaining Highborne that didn’t go under a bubble back into their society.
I’m alright waiting until the Nightborne get some options so it’s fair, but I’d kill for some magical theme tattoos (or just let us have glowing versions of what we already have), some extra jewelery options that reflect the noble status with some “nature” motifs, and maybe a few extra eye colours. Maybe true blonde as well.
Getting really old that the Horde keeps getting the “magic elf” fantasy when it keeps getting forgotten on it’s original faction. Especially when Suramar was Night Elven to begin with, and Nightborne were invented out of nowhere.
I mean, Nightborne are Night Elves of a different variety, so it’s still a Night Elf city, just not for yours.
Your night elves rejected magic right up until the cataclysm, and even then it was met with extreme prejudice. In this game, the horde had the magical elf fantasy first, the blood elves were the descendants of the Zin’Azshari highborne, while the Shen’dralar were trash mobs in a dungeon. The alliance had the wild nature elf fantasy.
The Highborne themselves are capable of elegance and opulence themselves but theirs is a more ancient aesthetic, while Nightborne can almost look futuristic at times.
As far as Suramar goes, it was orignally a Night Elf city. What I would personally like to see would be the Night Elves settling in Feralas with the Highborne taking back Eldre’thalas aka Dire Maul, which was explicitly a Highborne city.
Both factions have magically inclined Elven races, but what I’d like to see is the Hordeside Elves taking up an interest in Nature magic.
You know that Maiev murdered those people right?
Highborne are traitors, and the Arcane is only used for ruin and destruction.
I wouldn’t call them “welcomed and integral”
The Night Elves are interesting because they’re reclusive xenophobic religious zealots… Not boring Magic using elves like every other elf race.
