High Latency

Been having high latency since tuesday, reset modem and router nothings really changed.

Was wondering if anybody else has had issues with it in US.

Depends where it’s happening. I recommend adding a WinMTR that you run to the datacenter your server is hosted on. Central vs West Coast.

How is that any different from just pinging the server? I’m doing a pathping test atm with Blizzard’s US Central server, just wondering if that’s even worth DLing.

The WinMTR sends 1 packet per 1 second, whereas the traceroute or a ping only captures one pass on the connection path.

Btw- Are you in Eastern Canada?

No, I’m East Coast US

Hmm, you might be having a problem with the EQ route also. If you want to check really quick without a download, use the looking glass.

Just post the results here.

Anyone? 10 char

When trying to ping you, it appears the data is getting lost as it reaches the ISP network. I think the WinMTR is warranted.

Also, keep in mind that the forum is a player-help-player effort, so there is no set time on responses. If you do want the staff involved, you’ll want to open a ticket.

he is in the same data center as me chicago, even same battle group, you posted on my topic too, so maybe its an issue the networking around the data center?

who is your ISP cause am having the same issue

I’m also playing on Chicago datacenter, so I don’t think it’s that. There is an issue in New York with some of the ISPs relaying their data in, but the WinMTR is needed to really narrow it down.

i put in a ticket and blizzard is now aware of it, and they are working on it

My reply about the WinMTR was for the OP. I don’t see EastLink in the looking glass they ran.

I’ve been having the exact same problem since around noon today (CST) from TN. Using AT&T fiber. Seems to only be happening with WOW on Dawnbringer. Don’t seem to have issues loading anything else.

It isn’t just Dawnbringer, been having the same problems on Stormrage… it’s telling me my home latency is like 1800… and it jumped up to 7k at one point. Ridiculous, and it’s only been happening since Shadowlands released.

Is anyone experiencing this issue - that is NOT an ATT customer?

Please list your ISP if you have a different provider and are having this issue.
