HIGH ELVES in Shadowland moving forward

Ignore her. She has a history of role playing her headcanon and hating Alliance.

Most of us are happy to be on the blue team again, as we always should have been.

Neither do their detractors.

Alleria is not the same as the Ren’dorei. She chose to become what she is, she studied with Locus Walker and was prepared to take in the void from the Dark Naaru.

The Ren’dorei look the way they do because they were attacked by a void prince who forcibly infused them with void intending to make them void entities similar to what happened to the Etherals. Two totally different situations. Their appearance is a result of how they were changed/mutated during said attack. That is my point. Alleria is technically their leader and somewhat a Ren’dorei but she is not a full on Ren’dorei in the way Umbric or any of the playable Ren’dorei are. This is what differentiates them from High Elves or Blood Elves, they were physcially changed. If you ever notice, Alleria only gets blue when her emotions are high. Ren’dorei don’t do that, they were changed by the void attack and therefore are not like Alleria.

I’m not being purposely antagonistic, I have just as much reason to argue not to water down my characters purpose for looking how she does as the helfers do to cry they want white skin and blue eyes. For them, that is the iconic High Elf look, well sorry darling but my tentacles, blue skin and pale eyes are what I consider the ‘iconic’ look of my characters race and I don’t want it changed to shut up people who won’t play Horde cause Muh Warcraft II nostalgia.

As one who has already killed every slayable Void Elf NPC in the city of Stormwind -

Sounds like a good solution to me. {Sharpens Blades}

We’ll invite them to a dinner party, then say calmly “Hey, you remember when you lot slaughtered our kind; along with many innocents among them in Dalaran?” Then a brief moment later hit play with a magical-remote, to which the song ‘Rains of Castamere’ starts playing

It’s astonishing the amount of spite people have on this topic isn’t it?

Fancy that ai
people having long time wishes. They always use the ‘vocal minority’ argument because some people ask for it on forums, but what they forget is that argument applies to ANYTHING requested on forums. It’s always the vocal minority and the point is what should be considered is what issues crop up frequently within that minority.

Some things I just don’t need to see statistics on. I KNEW Kul Tirans would be woefully unpopular. What people forget is that if one simply observes closely the mood and general culture of World of Warcraft and indeed fantasy/RPG tastes, then these things are just obvious.

The wish for High Elves is very comparable to the wish for brown orcs, yet curiously no one bashes the latter. In terms of the game both have been kicking their heels on the relevant faction for over a decade. The difference is the Horde got their wish and more (as in multiple clans not just Mag’har).

For the final time Void Elves are Blood Elves, and it would be nice to add less ‘voidy’ skin tones to reflect the fact it’s a corruption not a natural skin colour-- useful for Holy Priests and generally less shadowy classes. It could easily be explained by High Elf ranks joining the Void Elves. They won’t need another elf race, it would wrap up the seperation of High Elves, and it would allow Alliance players to roleplay properly as their desired Quel’Dorei.

Yes, it’s not perfect because they wouldn’t have High Elf-like racials but I can live with that.

So can we kill all the “high elves” in the alliance now?

I will say per #1 that many High Elves make pilgrimages to Silvermoon then to Quel’danas to see the Sunwell. Lor’theomar even talks about it when Alleria shows up in Silvermoon and Rommath disagrees with allowing her near it.

There is no lore reason to not have High Elves, since WoW’s lore is a separate canon than that of the RTS games, though its lore is loosely based on them.

One of the reasons why High Elves are requested, and why I wouldn’t mind seeing them, was that they are one of the prominent races of the Alliance of old, featured both in Warcraft II and Warcraft III, with the former being the best game Blizzard ever made. It is the heart and soul of the franchise and that which I judge all other titles by.

Time is of the essence, yet the High Elves have been waiting a long time.

And times change, the high elf race was reduced by 90%. 90% of those that survived became blood elves.

People reaching for microscopic straw at this point in having a viable reason why High elves have a population to support this idea.

Got any source on this?

Got any source on this one too or is this just your opinion?

I’m not sure why anyone would think that there needs to be a ‘solution’.
There is no problem.
Some people want a playable race and they haven’t gotten it. So? What about it? It’s no different than any other group of people asking for other races like Sethrak. You don’t see anyone saying something needs to be done about it.
what the heck.

I think from Blizzard’s perspective (the one that matters), they’ve already been absorbed into other groups. Blizzard isn’t very good at exposition. The Elves that people argue for existed at a point in time, but what became of them isn’t always clear. The Exiles had a sort of conclusion to their story line and seem to be hanging out at the Sunwell. It may very well be that they just returned to Silvermoon. One of the lodges had a diet mishap and became wretched and the other lodge evacuated with the Dreanai (that’s what I recall, it may not be accurate - the quest arc was along time ago and it’s pretty obscure). A lot of players didn’t do those quests back in the day and they are still there for them in time travel. Not all high elves which are not Blood Elves are not Alliance high elves, like the Scryers. The Silver Covenant is part of a neutral city state, Dalaran, and though they support the Alliance they seem to not be a formal part of it. Also, the Silver Covenant seems to have gotten away with war crimes, which was brought up again in BFA. Blizzard might have plans for them which do not involve them being playable.

Ultimately there is a battle over lore interpretation. By making blue eyes available for Blood Elves, the devs are clarifying that lore. Particularly that Blood Elves are the continuation of the high elf story from the Warcraft RTS and Alliance high elves are just a side story to that.

one issue with your first solution, even if they make a storyline where vareesa’s high-elves join the horde, some folks would’nt accept that, and would still want high-elves on the alliance.

I like the second solution.

Option 2 then?

Or maybe the Alliance and Horde can outlaw drugs. Will be a lot less high elves when their drugs are illegal.
