Could be fun for differentiating the High Elves in general from the Blood Elves.
At least, one aspect.
It would still fall in the blue / purple eye thing as differentiation. Which, in armor, is not much. The two would still look very much alike at a glance.
This is fine to me, as at this time there is no reason they would look too different from each other at this time (barring some minor customizations like eye color or the tattoo thing). However, I know people who donāt want playable high elves would protest (and unfortunately given Void Elves, it seems that the developers leaned more towards heavy differentiation to satisfy potential contrarians rather than deliver what was specifically asked for).
Agreed. I think Auric Sunchaser is another possibility that could be neat with further development.
And Arator. He may be a half-elf, but he was still raised by his Aunt and with the High Elves. Now that his parents are back, that finally opens up time for his story to do other stuff. Perhaps even his backstory. Heās a Paladin. At one point he wouldāve been a squire, so who did he train under? Were they a human, dwarf, a fellow elf?
This quote looks incomplete. Iām assuming youāre saying that the high elves on Alliance would get hand-waved away using a time skip.
Iām surprised no one is asking why mages havenāt gone and cleaned up the plague. We know dragonfire can burn away the blight as seen in the Wrathgate cinematic, and Jainaās fancy entrance at the beginning of the BFA story shows you can freeze the blight into non-existence. Just get a bunch of frost mages on the case. Or ask Jaina if she can spare some time to finish the job.
Tell us why some new races were added to World of Warcraft in the upcoming Burning Crusade expansion?
One reason for the Blood Elves choice was obviously looks. Youād be amazed how many people will not play the Horde based purely on the fact that theyāre monstrous. So by giving an attractive race to the Horde, we feel like weāre opening a whole new part of the game to the people who wouldnāt experience that half of the game.
Seems High Elf female NPCās lost their eyes with the last update? I was checking the dressing room and the blue eye NPC options look like the male version of the HE eye now. At least they look consistent, but bummer.
Good question. I think the response will be a handwaived, āThe last plague bombs Sylvanas left were particularly virulent and nigh impossible to purge,ā until they are ready with whatever they want to do with it next.
At the moment, they may not even know what to do with the area. Or theyāll do something with the Scarlets in the 9.3.5 patch of Shadowlands in prep for 10.0.
The High Elves moving further away from reliance on the Sunwell - and potentially losing their eyeglow on their majority - would be interested, especially if they were cut off āagainā from it for political reasons.
Are we we certain itās a half elf option though?
Iām still of the opinion half elves would be Alliance. And if the ear slider is implemented I suppose anyone can RP any way they wishā¦
My issue and question is this, why would that be an inherent sign of a Half Elf? I know a lot of proās feel it would beā¦ but Night Elf fans have asked for ear sliders as well and I doubt anyone is going to say āah yes the half elf NEs have arrivedā, why canāt it simply be a new customization option and we just welcome it as such.
I think the ear-slider thing is a matter of extent.
It may not switch to small enough to where it would be indicative of a half-elf (and if half-elves are added later, even Aratorās model may be updated with smaller ears if half-elven ears are not as pronounced as normal elves).
I do happen to have a busy job, not much time to dwell on the forums in teh past week (no COVID quarantine for me, dude).
You aware Therenas couldnĀ“t decide to execute Perenolde (even with the proof of his betrayal right in the face of everybody and their mother) without a proper trial, right? A trial involving the other Alliance representatives btw. And no, no excuse if we take into account the Old Horde was rampaging around EK at the time.
The fact Ironforge and Dalaran did nothing is tremendously condemning, sorry but no valid excuse.
She would be better with a complete retconnā¦ thye most disgusting traits done on the character are KnaakĀ“s fault (he was the one who basically wrote her as a trophy wife eye candy for his self insert).

Also, here you go.

And this disccounts the quality of the lore supporting the implementation how exactly? No seriously, IĀ“m waiting to hear your reasoning.
Cause frankly, the merchandising reasoning behind the implementation is just that: the source of the decision, but not the execution itself. What I say is that the execution was VERY well done (so well done that when devs implemented a repetition A.K.A. the Nightnborne, everybody and their mother loved it).
Except that IF and Aerie Peak likely didnāt know it was going down and Dalaran was a mess. Lot of confusion abound as the Alliance of Lordaeron failed.
Alsoā¦ It was WCIII. They didnāt exactly think too hard on political intrigue.
