High Elf POSITIVITY Thread 😎

Not going to happen because they’r the same race and that stayson the faction accordingly like Kul tirans. The false equivalency gets old.

No one cares

Again,false equivalency.
Classic =/= rehash of an existing race.

Then you guys should have stuck to your discord and not created a topic simply for the sake of filling space.

Or maybe people just wanna talk about High Elves without having to handle with toxicity and pointless excuses and debates.

That would be nice, for a change.

It’s still happening sadly.

I’m positive that High Elves won’t be a thing.

Haha, I’ve seen bard requested a fair bit. I think it would be a cool class tbh lol.

I’m on the fense with this honestly. I think Half Elves would be cool, but I think they should be rolled into High Elves - as we don’t have a separate body of Half Elves in the game at the moment.

It isn’t even just about Classic. There are other examples too. Like on the top of my head, I recall Ion mentioning Zandalari druids not having dino forms for cat and bear. Yet here we are today.

So true! But a lot of people have been spreading positivity and great ideas and lore points on the issue so I am happy to see it :blue_heart:

And the artwork everyone has been sharing! :blue_heart:

He literally said the core of being a Druid is being a cat/bear but that changed in a couple builds lol

So he flip flops? That makes sense one has to adapt and not just arbitrarily hamper down, should always be open to possibilities coughs HIGH ELVES

Exactly lol!

He never said “no, never” lol. Only that at that stage there was no plans for them, that doesn’t mean it can’t happen later.

Plus with Void Elves being created from Blood Elves and not High. Those two things alone should speak volumes…

The possibility is still open.

Indeed, and one day we’ll see them become playable. Ogres too, and some of the other requested races.

Love the arts and model designs, though! They look pretty good! The San’layn and High Elf race chart thingy was also pretty neatly done; looked mostly an official announcement for new Allied Races.

I’d have much preferred High elves to begin with. I don’t think they really fit well within the entirety of the horde. Especially with the wars with the Trolls, not darks pear but obviously I’d imagine there would be tension there. As well as their war with the horde in the past. I’ve never cared for the horde races that much. Other than Undead and Blood Elves. But with how they painted Sylvannas I’ve even more issues with it. Not that I disagree with anything she’s done, but the undead don’t even really fit into the horde. I’d have rather have seen a third faction with undead and elves or simply elves with the alliance.

Blizzard has always gone back on their word, Pandarens where an April fools joke originally, and now we have them… they also said their would never be classic WoW and now we have that… like I could keep going on with how many times they have gone back on their word.

That’s why I always say no matter what theirs always a chance for something to happen… if it brings money, lore and reasons go out the window and they make it happen :joy:

Money is priority now if it brings in revenue I would bet you my first born child they’ll do it, regardless of Lore, people’s opinions, feedback… pretty much anything…

Wait - so all the fuss is about the skin? That’s what bothers you about playable High Elves? Not the lore or the model, just the skin color?

:flushed:

You are in the habit of telling us what to do lately and I’m going to politely ask you to stop this. You are not a forum moderator, this post has been approved by a moderator. So take your own advice and go to your own discord if you want a negative debate on playable High Elves. Or your other TWO threads YOU opened (speaking of filling space).

If you don’t want others to freely create posts you don’t like or agree with with the approval of moderators, don’t go to a public forum and complain.

Stop acting like you own these forums.

Ion would never say never, that’d just be bad PR. I think Blizz would alter Void Elves to be a better compromise before they’d give the Alliance another Thalassian, although they haven’t done much with Void Elves years after their release

I think we underestimate just how much of a nail in the coffin Void Elves might be, it’s a big reason why I resent them so much. Of course anything is possible though, I’d main a High Elf in a heartbeat

There wouldn’t be a need for compromise if Void Elves didn’t exist, but thanks to the rushed development of allied races they’re what we got. I like Half Elves because they’d be High Elves but with a good explanation as to why they’d look different. They’d literally be the children of Alliance High Elves while embodying their theme and aesthetic. We’d get what we want while not stepping on the toes of the Horde’s Blood Elves, that’s pretty much what we’ve been advocating for the past 3 years

Imo, if it was about money they already would of done it.

I take it reading comprehension is not your strong suit? Since that was in regards to some people in this thread that have trouble with the meaning of the word “Compromise” and those were some examples of how neither side got exactly what they wanted. And I like how you skip over the mention of the lore to try and make me look petty there.

void elves are not a nail in the coffin. sooner or later the entire system will need to be reorganized anyway. With the new customization coming in shadowlands it is going to be a huge mess. Some subraces are customization and some are their own separate race. It opens contradictions and makes it look messy.

Either blizzard will take measures to fix it soon (doubtful since they are so stubborn) or they will have no choice in a few expansions when the mess is even bigger.

That makes sense too as to why they didn’t make Void Elves stem from HEs… the option is always there.

If Ion isn’t keen on High Elves, he may have wanted to try something else first, or continue to put them on the back burner hoping even the other devs saw the HE request go away with VEs (it didn’t)… what interesting to me is that he and the devs didn’t take the HEs out of the equation when making VEs as if they can at anytime put them in if they want or if they feel the demand is there.

Like always, here to show my support for playable Alliance High Elves!

I love that artwork and the concept models.
