I guess it is what it is. But regardless of the discord the HE community even on the forums always purports to stay to our thread so long as itās not locked.
So I personally find it disappointing. And agree with Dredes comment above on it.
Anyways always nice hearing from you Starla! I am currently doing things on my priest / stuff on my warlock to pass the time. I want to finish my loyalist arch on him but I refuse to do so without the Darkshore warfront set. And I farmed it this week but it didnāt drop anything I needed to complete the set. You have to kill the rares? And look in chests? Itās kinda random to me tbh.
So I tried queing for it on Horde and it dropped more stuff I didnāt need after the warfront was over. I wasnāt sure if queing + completion gave gear too I thought it was just the rares and the boxes.
I mean spamming a copy paste of what Dredes said, in other threads doesnāt really help the case either. Itās actually bumping said spam people seem to be against, and actively participating in it soā¦ kinda counter productive in such cases.
That said, no one has any control over what others do online, and I while I also agree with Drede, I donāt think trying to police people into doing something they donāt want to is going to get us anywhere.
Anyways, here for my support for Playable Alliances High Elves.
It may have been while I wasnāt active. I have seen many threads come and go, but the megathreads have always been a staple. Some temp threads pop up while they are locked to keep things in line, which is what I thought this thread was funnily enough. Then megathread comes back up and the others are a ghost townā¦ Until it gets locked again and then the smaller threads are used. But it doesnāt catch ALL of the discussion. They never will. Right now without a megathread it feels like, to me, we still donāt have a solid thread.
So this change has to do with flagging?
Why? The megathreads work fine as long as they are open and they arenāt that difficult to create as long as a person has TL3. The body doesnāt have to even stay the exact same.
Itās not an issue with me. Like I said, I like that players can meet outside of the forums for this stuff and I support it, but the forums and how they work should come first yeah? Should keep things recognizable for the sake of clarity so that ALL of the forums can say āhere is the main threadā.
If you have any more questions about it Iām more than willing to answer you on discord I donāt feel comfortable continuing the conversation here in all honesty but Iād love to hear your feedback on the thread as well and better explain where it comes from.
If not thatās cool itās really neither here nor there to me. Supporting High Elves is what matters and we both do that in our unique ways.
Agreed.
Some of my replies in other threads are more in relation to questions being asked (such as what new allied race would you like?) or if a history / lore question that is pertinent to the Silver Covenant or the pre-WC3 history.
I understand the desire to want to keep it contained and to avoid spam. I also think that we need to be wary what other people consider āspamā.
Posting twice isnāt spamming or policing.
But of course you want to make me out to be the bad guy.
Iām not one of the helfers, itās not my problem that you guys canāt keep your buds in check. So my posting to helfers that theyāre actually hurting their own ācauseā is in my best interest, itās not me ābumpingā anything. I made 2 posts but your fellow helfers are making dozens and yet all you can do is point to me.
Hysterical.
Sorry lost track of replies there. I would remove your discord tag. I am sure you donāt mind it being out in the open or you wouldnāt have posted it, but I donāt know if itās technically okay here on the forums.
It wasnāt meant to come off as arguing, for the record. Just some side notes and me trying to explain why things may be messy right now.
No worries. Iām pretty sure it is just based off the fact people leave it in posts all the time that and or their BNET or both. But I was gonna edit it and remove later anyways. All good Iām just glad you didnāt quote it so when I edited it itād still be there lol.
I think the problem there is that should have been the angle from the beginning if they wanted to not use HEās ever.
As in for more context they could have made VEās from the SC HEās but actively chose not to. And thus the Alliance Quelādorei narrative is not the narrative of the Void Elves. And itās the lore that stems so much support for the request.
Personally I have to ask myself why didnāt they make Void Elves from High Elves? And what I keep coming back to is, they may use them in the future as a playable race. The April fools patch notes alluded to Pandaren, and two new elf races in legion. So is it so much of a stretch to assume they didnāt just allude to HEs by explicitly calling the HE threads to the forefront in their patch notes this year. Yes it was silly, but people often use comedy as the first step when announcing a shift on policy. Which would put HEās by the end of SL. Which I think makes sense.
Void Elves imo also have validity in asking for diverse skin options, as Alleria has been referred to as a VE regardless of how she became one, they choose to call her a VE. Which adds validity to them getting more skin options but that would appease VE fans, a lot of HE fans would still stand by voicing their support for HEs.
I think it makes perfect sense to give high elf skin tones and blue eyes to the void elves, in the telgrus rift there were high elves trying to learn their ways. They were npcs but still. It goes to show there are high elves attempting to learn about the void.
