jaina isnât the alliance. Blizzard can often write individual characters well when they focus on them. I am talking about the factions as a whole.
Whatâs depressing to me is, we didnât get an all out faction war story wise
iâm not the best person to discuss that with since i have actually tried, on more than one occassion, to play the game without killing anything.
For real. I much prefer my idea for BFA. Have the alliance start the war following the murder of calia at arathi.
Teldrassil is retaliation for lordaeron and Saurfang remains loyal throughout bfa but becomes jaded over the course of the expansion leading into 9.0.
Nazjatar is 8.3 with 9.0 being the black empire expansion with the faction war still ongoing. The sylvanas B plot only really taking off in 9.0 for a 10.0 shadowlands. The faction war would also fall to the sideline after 9.0 to deal with the rise of Nâzoth.
so alliance is full on bad guy?
Plus like how many characters did we lose this xpac? Sylvanas, Nathanos, Gallywix, Saurfang, Iâm sure thereâs more.
RASTAKHAN mon! imagine raiding boralus and killing jainas mom
No. Both factions are in a grey area this way.
The alliance is retaking lands they have had claims to for over a decade with the justification of sylvanas commiting regicide to kick it off. Whether or not Calia having a legitimate claim to the throne is another debate. The point is that is what anduinâs advisers push and him being inexperienced caves to the pressure.
Out of all of his advisers only velen would be the one advocating peace realistically.
I agree here, horrible story telling in BFA from pre patch. Anything that was remotely good, Jainaâs story, got scrapped in 8.1.5 and beyond.
really cool idea.
this was so sad
Oh man anything to stick it to Jaina âYou thought Thrall was a writersâ pet?â Proudmoore.
This would be pretty awesome, but itâd be a little petty? Have Alliance do something actually badass and make it a huge statement, just like the HOrde did with Teldrassil. Make them take over Thunderbluff or something.
My ideas would be, Alliance attacked Lordaeron first. Saurfang kills Anduin when kneeling down, and Saurfang dies and Honorable death while not betraying the Horde.Sylvanas Burns the tree. We unleash Derrick Proudmoore on the Alliance, (what a cool story that would of been!) And Sylvanas somehow remains leader of the Horde. I got a bunch of ideas I could go on with.
Should have committed to the story narrative and not backtracked by making Sylvanas leave and Horde unite with Alliance. But rather instead of a peace treaty a forced armistice, one that Tyrande still walks out in anger over.
well the goal was to retake lordaeron. Personally I would liked them to actually succeed and not have it be blighted. Instead over the course of the expansion sylvanas destroys the city as the alliance is still fortifying it. It would make sense for the alliance to use it as a springboard to gather forces for an eventual assault on quelâthelas.
Following the horde defeat in the stromgarde warfront that is what the horde would do.
Alliance was never going to get UC, Iâm sure Sylvanas always had a contingency plan for it. I think your idea makes sense for making UC come first though. Because Forsaken are ruthless, donât play fair, and have been shown to be a war machine. So how they let them take Brill when Alliance had to land naval forces and they knew they were coming? Seems more likely theyâd have plague bomb rigged the beaches and waters, Alliance being able to storm the land and take Brill doesnât make sense to me if it comes after Teldrassil and is expected.
oh not to mention rolling past blight machine after blight machine, knowing the fate of southshore, remembering the events at the wrath gate, and the alliance marches right up to sylvannas door step without a single blight mask
exactly. What we would have seen with the alliance attacking first is an expected invasion at the beaches overwhelming sparse defenders and taking brill. As the alliance sets up camp and starting getting ready to siege lordaeron that is when the horde is bringing reinforcements via portal to defend the city.
While lore wise portals are not an efficient way to move an army we have the perfect plot device to explain that because of the recent recruitment of the nightborne. Masters of telemancy.
Sylvanas could still fool NEs into going to Silithus too if Alliance thought that was the next move, so war of thorns still makes sense post UC shrugs but thatâs not what happened.
I also see this scenario letting Sylvanas stay Horde, which is nice to stop changing the narrative constantly for Horde and nice to save another leader who is despite large numbers of disliking her still has a large fan base.
Not to mention the void elves and Jaina porting forces in UC during the Horde scenario of BfA.
