High Elf POSITIVITY Thread 😎

i dont know how they could be if:

  1. theyve been assimilated and their models just dont depict that yet

  1. their blood lines are diluted from 2800 years of marrying humans.

  1. since theyve been assimilated, they likely took on some of the customs and norms of the host nations, such as different hair styles, different casual attire (like belf starting gear would not be helf starting gear, even if you could call them helfs, since they’ve been assimilated. i honestly think they’re half elves already except for the royals, who are only recently assimilating.

We have no evidence there has been widespread assimilation.

We have no reason to believe this is widespread.

Stop saying assimilated. I do agree that living that long among other cultures likely does rub off a bit.

While I’d happily take half elves, there is no reason to assume any current elf population has become mostly half elves.

Hello Hyperspace, I hope you are well.

If you claiming this is bait, then you’re really biting really well.

So, you admit that you and a couple of other Anti’s deny the lore.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but my interest in getting playable high elves is in exploring the mindset of the group (or at least the specific subset) that decided to stay with their allies rather than follow their leader’s call back to their homelands.

I’m perfectly fine with leaving the primary history and themes and aesthetics of Quel’thalas with the blood elves - that’s where it is, and that’s where it belongs. But current high elves are those who pretty much by definition gave up their claim to that home and history - as said, the blood elves allow pilgrims, so they probably aren’t overly hostile to the still-high elves who acknowledge their rule, which to me implies that current high elves are only apart from the blood elves because they continually choose to stay apart. And, perhaps because I’m from a family of immigrants, that’s the theme and mindset I want to see explored.

no its a blanket statement that blizz is famous for. the high elves of the alliance are assimilated into surrounding cultures. some are still gonna look like helfs and some are gonna look like half elves. and some are gonna be…is that a helf or a half elf, cause they’re so close but just different enough to raise the question.

and if its retconned that we had asian and african humans all this time, then it’ll be more obvious. their half elf models would have the most unique appearance.

i just based that on ion’s comments that there arent enough remaining to form a substantial community of high elves, as they’ve been assimilated into surrounding cultures.

The whole world is on lockdown. Glad to see the same can’t be said for this thread.

Well, atleast you got them now

I like my mog on my Rogue, though it is a PVP set, but it is something that is the closest to “Outlaw” as possible.

Though, still trying to work on this Rogue as when I got it to 120, stopped working on it, but now going to play it more often.

Though, I think I might post from this toon actually, since I am going to do a server change and a name change of my Warrior in a couple of days.

I need to pick an alt and level it.

It’s amazing we’re called selfish. Who’s selfish? Those who want to play a faction or those who don’t want others to play a faction?

kul tirans are thousands of years and dozens of generations seperated from stormwind, they have their own distinct culture which is represented in their racials.

most high elves are the same generation of blood elves and live in a city that is as close as you can get to silvermoon without painting the roofs red. they don’t have their own culture.

Yeah, we’re the selfish ones requesting for something already within our ranks.

It’s actually the other way around - you reject Alliance High Elves because they have light skin, that’s why you don’t mind Void Elves even though they’re literally Alliance Blood Elves, with the exact same lore and mindset as their Horde counterpart.

Heads up - you don’t need thousands of years to develop a new culture and mindset.

In game examples include Void Elves or LF Draenei.

Real life examples include the majority of countries that gained independence from other countries, especially colonies in the Americas.

and high elves haven’t

i thought void elves were

literally separated

for tens of thousands of years

countries that gain independence didn’t change cultures overnight, the process of them changing would have likely started long before independence
