The thing is, I see no negatives from this copy pasta, as you call it. It has immense story potential, where you could explore the high elf/blood elf schism in depth, resolve the fate of the Windrunner family and the Sunreavers while youāre at it and go into great detail on how the two cultures have lived apart and are now at each otherās throats, even if theyāre at times blood related. I think that could be -great- if done right. And Iād love to have the option to play BOTH sides of that.
I think you should practice what you preach, instead of assuming what others do or do not do.
Keep up your hypocrisy though, it does run in line with the āwe want high elves foe the lore not their appearance, but we need a slot for the appearance we wantā deal you got going.
I think you should take up on your own advice.
Of course you dont, because you will justify it any number of ways.
You dont need a copypasta for a good story. It isnt necessary. You see the brief civil war between the sc and the sunreavers. You dont need to be a helf tk experience it.
Copypasta is bad because it removes the unique flavor of a faction. It gives a small bang for your buck, and only serves to make people not enjoy what they rolled. Uniqueness and limitations create diversity and choice. Removing it is a negative, and this is why the mass majority of successful mmos dont do it.
Oh I see, you are just going to repeat my response to you in a childish protest. Got it. Let me know when you have something more to say than ākettle you are black.ā.
So betās on how long this threadāll stay open at this rate? Iāll give good odds.
Ok. This is an actual argument so Iām glad you made this point.
I will say this as far as ARs go: Some have been tied in very poorly (especially Velfs cringe ). The ones that have been tied in well (vulps, lightforged) all had entire expacs revolving around their story. Playing through the Argus campaign on my lightforged was much, much more satisfying for me personally than grinding out the rep on my human beforehand; because it had the additional factor of playing something with an actual stake in what was going on. That is one substantial factor that gets people invested.
In a BELF/Helf conflict, you are entirely correct for the Horde side when you say Helfs are unnecessary. You do not need them to gain the maximal enjoyment out of that storyline. On the Alliance side, however, it would be a boon, to have that extra little something that makes a story all the more memorable. That little bit where it makes sense that your character is personally involved.
And what of those who are not a blood elf player in the conflict? Same story.
The matter of involveme t is dependent on the person and cannot be linked directly to what theybare playing. For example, I enjoyed the purge story and did so as a worgen DK. My character choice is purely related in terms of gameplay and not aesthetic or stort.
It is why arguments about emotions and involvement dont work because it is kmpossible to support either way.
Let alone that the belf and helf conflict only ever had tension in MoP and only because of a human leader.
I dont see a reason to detract from choice and faction uniqueness to appeal to what is most likely a minority of players.
On the other hand, the way the main storyline has been going, I find myself more in more in favour of a dissolution of factions as it is. So, Iām not as invested in keeping the factions homogeneous as others. I come from a field where Iād like to have a cool story, and see the structure of factions etc. resolve around the story instead of the other way around, for a hopefully better experience than BFA was. So, for me, what I just said is a really strong argument. For you, what you just said is. I hope we can agree to respectfully disagree on this and perhaps gain a better understanding of the otherās PoV.
My personal take on what theyāre going to do when the Horde and Alliance arenāt in open conflict (and not in a semi cold war,) is that theyād keep us busy with enemies that both sides despise for different reasons while still stoking little instances of faction rivalry/hatred in spots to keep things from being too lovey dovey between the factions while we work with neutral groups like the Argent Dawn/etc.
I personally donāt think they want to ever remove the faction divide and most recent comments have pointed to that fact.
I donāt think it will happen either. The best case, realistic scenario at the moment would be:
a) Horde and Alliance band together against Sylvanas
and
b) Genn and Tyrande go on a merry revenge trip against Lordaeron, which is where pvp happens. Anduin disavows this, ofc, but enough people in the Alliance camp hate the horde (and undead in general) that he canāt actually stop them.
Iām wondering where some of this will go, if we do kill Sylvanas (or, sheās out of the picture finally in whatever way they do it,) itāll be interesting to see what people like Genn do and if/how they can move on. How do they choose to do things and what are their reactions depending on what they see while in the shadowlands? I havenāt poked at the story spoilers for shadowlands so if thereās any early indications Iād prefer not having it spoiled.
I think both sides are going to have to do some soul searching (lol sorry itās a bad pun) after all of these and seeing some of the old heroes while we explore the covenants and see them learn who was behind a lot of BFA. Iād expect the expansion after Shadowlands to start off with a little less direct conflict but weāll see. We still have that giant sword sticking out of our home and other story threads that havenāt come to fruition.
there was no āhelf spamā until the people opposing the addition of high elves started spamming the forums. Like I said we only ever maintained a single thread at a time.
You blame us for what your people have done. The general forum goers are even catching on now and noticing it isnāt the pro high elf crowd making all these high elf threads.
I think the pun is wonderful. I love puns. And that one got a smile.
That said, I would love to see the sword issue resolved somehow. It is not healthy to leave it sticking in there for the planet. Statements like āAzeroth is dyingā are not just going to go away. Hopefully. Itād be terrible writing if those were just empty words.
You guys are still doing this? I meanā¦find your kicks somehow
Good. Frail pinkskins need to be exterminated.
No itās not, humans disgust me.
āDear Kettle, Meet Potā
You make claims of me doing something, but yet, canāt prove it, because of your so called excuse, āOh, I donāt want to go looking through all your postā.
Then you claim that I am self victimizing, but yet, you arenāt even looking at your post.
Then you also come up with post of how I post as a personal attack on the forums, then claim it is an insult.
Yeah, sounds like a true Broflake. Maybe you should think about yourself and stop doing what youāre doing before contradicting and telling on others.
Actually, I think that weāre going to use our hearts of azeroth just like our artifact weapons and use them to seal the wound and remove the sword.
Kind of hoping the burst of titan energy terraforms silithus into a cool new zone.
