Yeah, but the implication that “trauma makes you a different race” is kinda silly as well. Because truly, the concept of race in WoW is a mess and no matter which side you argue for, you are gonna end with weird takes like this.

If we are going to talk about the collective trauma VE’s went through, maybe it shouldn’t be done in the context of “What the heck is race even” in WoW.

That doesn’t diminshes what the original bunch went through. If anything, it could be made a more bearable passage and willingly, because they could learn from it.

I play a forsaken, I know a thing or two about scenarios like that.

That’s how it has felt to me. I really don’t think playable HEs on the alliance would shift population noticeably at all when time and time again we see gameplay advantages being the deciding factor on faction choice.

Ostensibly. Which just hammers how much of a mess the concept of race in WoW is. For Blizz is def about aesthetics and that’s fine, but let’s not pretend it makes any sort of in universe sense.

Yeah, you’re right. It’s much more difficult to leave a son behind in a different country in real life than leaving him behind in a different planet in a fictional game where you spend 2-5 seconds at most teleporting from one place to the other.

True, I think I just would like a biiiit more internal consistency but looks at WoW as a whole yeah, not so much.

It’s just kinda sad when realize the best answer for a situation is “just don’t think much about it.”

I just realized that the saddest part of the entire debacle is that blood elves went through something possibly very traumatic, like, they barely were saved mid fel mutation, they were changed by it


And here we are, people denying all that happened to them and treating it as if it’s not a big deal, as if that doesn’t mean anything.

Just finished watching Bellular’s latest: new customizations for the core races.
We don’t get PAHEs.
And neither does the Horde.
The new Belf eyes? They aren’t blue; more of a glowy cyan.

 why does this apply to Void Elves, but not Demon Hunters or Death Knight’s whom also have different skin tones and have been altered by magics. Should they not in this case be a different race?
