High Elf Love Thread! šŸ„°

Being a Sand troll on the Horde doesnā€™t mean that all Sand trolls must be Horde as well, silly, it just means that you, the player, with the background of a sand troll decided to join the Horde, which was always a possibility considering you help many sand trolls in Voā€™dun while you quest. The possibility is why the devs explicitly say that none of these options go against lore, or the narrative of the game.

Just like you, the player, as a High elf can also choose to join the Horde. Itā€™s nice that the Devs are giving us these options. <3

Those high elves from the Allerian Stronghold in Outland can finally choose Silvermoon over hanging out with humans.

The title of this thread says ā€œHigh elf Love Thread!ā€ and I do love High elves, and Iā€™m glad that weā€™re finally getting the option to play as them.

Actually, entirely in world of Warcraft, itā€™s in bc, wrath, mists, legion.

Sorry you think you know lore

Guess you also havenā€™t read the request then cause weā€™ve offered the exact opposite idea for High Elves.

Youā€™re just all kinds of unprepared and biased for this convo arenā€™t ya?

Blood elves are already in the horde, silly.
Too bad you donā€™t have Alliance High elves.

Itā€™s sad to see people try and troll this hard to push a lore-ignoring narrative , all for the sake of what?

Yes, player and alliance spite .

EDIT: oh whoa, completely forgot ignoring is a thing. Best tool for obvious trolls, have an ok life Trollsong. Itā€™s been fun showing the world youā€™re nothing but biased and lore-ignoring.

Personally I think they should just remove the timer and combat break from transformation toys on RP servers. Let your lot do their thing. People can be a trog if they want to.

Iā€™ll take that as a yes.

Well, technically we already could, but now you can be a Scryer come home to Azeroth or a Silver Covenant defector who feels guilty about the purge. You can even be an Alliance high elf, born in Stormwind but immigrated to Silvermoon to learn about your heritage. The options are endless.

I donā€™t want an Alliance High elf, I simply want to be a High elf who recently rejoined the Horde from the Alliance.

I do not see how Iā€™m trolling, as Iā€™ve always expressed this viewpoint in the forums. You really should tone it down a bit, thereā€™s no reason to be so hostile and caustic as Iā€™ve been entirely polite toward you during this convo.

If heā€™s like this over the implementation of video content, imagine how he is about things that actually matter.

Technically yes, as there was always some evidence that some High elves might have officially rejoined the Blood elves. Like for instance some of the blue eyed elves we saw popping up among the Sunreavers, but since their presence was largely unexplained there was really no way to substantiate how they got there. Although Danuser essentially confirming Lanesh as a blue eyed blood elf with a background of his own was pretty compelling itself.

But due to the nature of why these options are being made available, and the fact that theyā€™re being deliberately designed to look like other clans, and groups of the same race sort of confirms it. Itā€™s nice for blizzard to finally give players the option to choose that background now as well.

If Teris Blightsunder, Lanesh the Steelweaver, Koltira, /etc can decide to do it and shows the same eye color (wellā€¦Koltira would except heā€™s undead and loving it), it makes sense that others have. Not having the option has mostly just blizz not implementing things yet until they could do a bigger push for all the races. Iā€™d say straight back orcs and the gold eyes were test runs but were also being worked on after they had finished ARs so they could drop 'em early then decided to wait till everyone could have it.

Especially considering that with the renewal of the Sunwell, for some high elves the initial conditions of their leaving are no longer present. After an event like the Purge of Dalaran, living under an extremist group like the Silver Covenant many neutral Dalaran high elves might have decided that they are safer in Silvermoon.

Youā€™re talking to Cezol. Having a different viewpoint from him is considered trolling or being toxic :slightly_smiling_face:

Itā€™s honestly about standing behind their decision that Blood elves essentially are High elves. It made no sense for Ion to deny the alliance High elves, change void elves to look completely different from standard thalassian elves, and then still not give blood elves high elf customizations. If the idea was quell the High elf demand by giving them a compromise and explaining that Blood elves are essentially High elves, then by not giving blood elves the option to use high elven customizations they were sort of undermining their own efforts.

Mm might, yes.

Definitely might.

But also, might not. Hmmm .

I want so much to enjoy my Blood Elf Paladin but I simply canā€™t connect with the Horde themes that I feel run completely contradictory to the themes of the Paladin class.

And then I go try to play Alliance, and while I like Human I still canā€™t over that they and the other Paladin races for Alliance have way too oddly proportions and donā€™t look as sleek and good as Blood Elves do, they donā€™t look as normal while still passing themselves off as a cool magic fantasy race.

Itā€™s a conundrum I tell ya, I truly wish Blizzard could let us RP or play whatever we want like whatā€™s trying to be passed off as true in this thread!

Mm definitely, yes.

Maybe definitely.

But also, definitely. Hmmm .

For a group of people complaining that weā€™re restricting their role playing, they are dead set on controlling yours.

Iā€™ve defended my stance on why High elves would rejoin the Blood elves many times in this thread, from some of the High elves like the ones at the Allerian Stronghold not being given the choice to choose a side (and being lied to by the alliance about their homeland) despite stating their desire, and longing to return home to Quelā€™thalas to the players, to High elves in Dalaran possibly joining the Sunreavers.

And yes, with the Sunwell restored, and Quelā€™thalas thriving as a city once more, many High elves would likely want to return home instead of living on the outskirts of cities, or relying on the hospitality of other races to survive.

I really donā€™t understand why heā€™s like this. Iā€™ve tried multiple times to have a polite conversation with him, but he always ends up calling everyone who disagrees with him a troll, so it makes it nearly impossible. :cactus:

They legit need to open up the other cities and set it up so you can do everything there you can in the main city. Orgrimar isā€¦ not great and Stormwind is a bit of a bore.
