You’re right. And again, I don’t disagree with the new skin tone options. I just don’t believe that Void Elves should receive access to all Blood Elf options. It removes Blood Elf race identity and feels crappy for the players who invested in their Horde race for all of these years.
If we are going to give Void Elves more customization options while also following what Ion said, we should be focusing on white/black hair, void skin, perhaps void auras or even claws. Something that differentiates them.
Because Void Elves are more like a faction than a race, since they declared allegiance to Alleria and consumed her tricks with the void, so I think giving them “voidier” options would be awesome.

I don’t see how it removes the Blood Elf identity. They might share visual aesthetics but the identity is still very different between Void Elves and Blood Elves even if they have options that let them appear near identical. Incidentally, that ship has already sailed. Once pre-patch hits, with the right selections a Void Elf will already be able to appear nigh identical to a Blood Elf, so I’d say that point is moot now.

I don’t think anyone really objects to getting more void-themed options for Void Elves… once the High Elf options are complete. I know there’s several void-themed options I want once the hair issue is handled. As I’ve mentioned elsewhere, I don’t necessarily need (or even want) Blood Elf hairstyles and colors copy/pasted to Void Elves. I’ve been a vocal proponent of Void Elves getting Kul Tiran hair textures (colors), and some Human hairstyles shared with them.
The colors and styles Void Elves would gain in this way can complete the High Elf aesthetic without copying anything else from Blood Elves. It still keeps distinction between the Blood and Void Elves since the shades Void Elves would gain are different from any that Blood Elves have, and giving Void Elves some of the Human hairstyles doesn’t copy any hairstyles unique to Blood Elves.

This would be the best idea for Feltotem as they did originate from the Highmountain and that would give people a reason to play Highmountain over regular Tauren with a class they don’t have.

Interesting thread title. “Void Elf Customizations for High Elves” = Void Elves.
Man it is going to be weird seeing Blood Elves in all my groups no matter what faction i am on! Also more voidy customization for our void elves please! Need to be able to tell the difference lol!

If you read the initial post you’d realize this isn’t a High Elf thread. Though I have made countless numbers of those, Blizzard unfortunately elected to make crummy knockoffs in form of Void Elves. High Elf fans will just have to make the best of it until hopefully they change their mind.
What would you make if they added HE as one the races in a model toggle for lightforged? Would that appease you a bit?
Do you mean if they made a High Elf Skin for a lightforged Draenei?? Like if they had those racials? If so yeah, beats being a Void Elf.

Yeah I’d totally go for that at this point, as long as he looked like a real High Elf. Naturally it would be a lot better to have actual High Elves with their racials and a story, but at this point after 16 years I’d take that.
It’s the only thing I can think of besides asking for half-elves unfortunately. And it looks like half-elves might end up as customization for BE for some odd reason.
I might just go the crazy rout and start another High Elf thread with my own suggestions for racials. I’m expecting mad spam and trolls, but it goes with the territory.

i think blizz means for any elves given ear length modifiers to have half elf customizations. could be wrong though.
It’s not crazy, that was the norm back before they decided to give void elves, high elf customization.
The AR route kinda seems redundant now, but I’d definitely wouldn’t be against it if it finally and officially touched on the high elf issue.

Agree 100% with the OP. Void elves look so stupid with high elf skin and eyes, and then weird void hair and tentacles coming out of their head. If Blizzard said it’s ok to give us natural skin, then natural hair should be available as well. This customization route is half done at this point and natural hair and a hide tentacle option will help.
