I’m more excited because it’s not being updated, it’s being entirely remade. Bigger and better! It’ll be cool seeing the west side “restored”. I’m just left wondering if they’ll be remaking other zones in the area or where we’ll be adventuring at. I’ve wondered if the lack luster return to Gilneas is due to not wanting to waste resources on something being rebuilt.
Actually having flying in the zone will be great as well.
I’m also kinda hoping that with all the new Nerubian assets and the underground cavern tech, that maybe we’ll actually see Azjol-Nerub as a full on zone come the Northrend remake.
Among the descendants. I figured Kyron is still definitely full elf. Did he set out with the original Arathi leaving the Eastern Kingdoms? I don’t recall how much of his backstory we are told. I’ll have to get a refresher on this next character when I head to Hallowfall.
I still really wish we could get more customization options for their spells.
Elune themed for Night Elves, Worgen, and any others that want them.
Fire themed spells…be cool with the addition of the Arathi now.
As well as so many others.
I personally have a theory that there might not be any flying actually. There was Dynamic Ground Riding datamined on WoWhead a while ago and I could see them having us on Ground Mounts all expansion for Midnight. Would be a fun nod to how the zone has never had flying and would be a fresh way of travelling after DF and WW. From soaring around giant underground caverns to sprinting around the lands of Quel’thalas on lynxes and hawkstriders and sabers with new sprinting/leaping/dashing abilities. Would feel very grounded and cool I think especially for the first “return to the old world” expansion!
It also shows up for horde and alliance in case anyone was wondering. I wonder what it could be. I also wonder when Blizz is going to announce the start of the anniversary patch.
I do remember hearing about that being datamined, but it was also said part of the reason they’re remaking the zones larger was for flying, I’m all for the larger zones.
" With the announcement of the second and third expansions of the Worldsoul Saga, Midnight , and The Last Titan respectively, we are going back to old zones like Quel’Thalas and Northrend as they serve new modern story purposes. Hight gave a little more details on how these new zones are being implemented while also preserving their past usage in the game, “We’re giving our world builders some free rein to expand. Those areas may be geographically larger than they were. That’ll give them more opportunities to introduce some of the smaller points of interest where you’ll have a culture or a local tribe and give them the ability to have storylines that center on that. We don’t want people to feel like, oh, wait a minute, it’s that same place I know. It’s gonna feel like the same place; it’s just that it is literally going to be a little bit larger than what you’ve experienced. Flight being much more accessible, we need to have a larger landmass for people to be able to explore.”"
Dynamic ground mounts sound like they could be fun too if they worked a bit more like mounts in newer games.
Yeah, I also don’t like calling it a revamp as I feel it implies you’re taking something already existing and adding to it, which isn’t the case. They’re entire remakes of the zones.
Because blizz is adding them so people can look like/rp as half elf, arathi, or for worgen so they can have pointer ears like Genn in heroes of the storm. It’s a customization that’s been requested for a hot min and easy enough for them to implement.
Me too, I’ve wanted it for a hot min for worgen. My worgen monk who’s in human form unless in combat is going to rock pointed ears! My worgen Druid that I just rp as a helf botanist will have pointed ears too!
