They just want to silence us anyway they can. First said we would never the high elf model, then they said we would never get tan skin, then they said we would never get neutral hair colors. Harassment, gaslighting, misrepresenting our arguments on purpose.
And they were wrong on all accounts.
We will continue asking for things, because that is how the forums work. I hope one day they will learn to get over it, but in the mean time their meltdowns are absolutely hilarious
Yeah and then say that “helfers should leave their thread alone”
Honestly don’t think any of the toxic ones will stop being toxic, like some still bash other posters they’ve put on ignore because they’re still so heckin mad that Blizzard implemented more high elf changes.
They’re literally putting their frustrations and venting at the people who simply asked for customization and not at all at the company that actually implemented them.
It’s been three years and some of them have stated they like drama.
It’s just what they do now.
That’s likely a feature and not a bug. You can tell by the, “You’re not a High Elf you’re a Void Elf” comments, when you’ve got the company stating that the customizations are there so you can play what you want…
That’s intentionally trying to upset people. So that’s where we’re at.
I usually throw in a, “If you make High Elf customizations for Void Elves, then this eventually happens.”
and my last one was, “They’ll come at people over the Void Elf thing.”
So… having a racial toggle is really the only thing that can end that sort of forum toxicity. But who knows if that’s a bridge too far for Blizzard. It shouldn’t be, but I think it’ll be based largely on the amount of developmental work required.
Thank you. I agree with this 100%. It is hard to tell the genuine requests from the troll posts though, I will admit.
Unfortunately, there a ton of people on the forums making a ruck who think differently than you. Feels really icky for loyal Blood Elf fans personally.
I feel there is no fret there, however it may seem. I think Blizzard gave a lot of thought of how and what they wanted implemented on Void Elves regarding High Elf options.
Remember they initially said “no.” Then they gave the topic another look after a year or so and said the options are where they ended up on it.
Feels like they’ve gotten enough hand me downs and I would rather Void Elves start getting new options.
They did that with the tattoos for dwarves I thought? And my orc can look like a blackrock orc now.
Void elves and blood elves are High Elves… they already are high elves.
Kel’thas decided one day to change the name. That’s it. Nothing else happened. Your blood is still the same. Everything is the same except you renamed yourselves since 95% of the population died.
Void elves are a bit different I guess because they have void in them. But, they’re blood elves which are high elves.
That’s sort of an issue that happens around here. They’ve got a real community and spend most of their time on forums.
The forums, waiting for people to reply, typing posts, etc. Eat up a lot of free time and it’s not a great use of your time. So I actually don’t like being around.
I came around a bit when they announced the skin colors and I’m back because of the hair colors. But I’m gonna leave again… and when I bounce back in, in a few months or whatever, For whatever reason reminds me that these things are here…
They’ll have been present the entire time.
I don’t know that it matters. But I think that it muddles feedback for Blizzard. But that feedback is already muddled. There are people who want High Elf options who are pretty quiet because why would you expose yourself to that kind of negative internet conversation?
They’ll poke their head out for some Blizzard posts or something. But they’re not gonna jump in on some High Elf thread, that’s 5,000 posts deep and full of vitriol.
So I kind of worry about the ability of people to give their feedback and requests in a manner that feels safe for them.
Yeah the back and forths definitely muddle it, seems like people on forums can’t outright ignore a thread topic they don’t like, they have to leave some vitriol then say “muted” or “ignored” after the fact they’ve spread their own negativity.
Like. There’s thread topics I don’t care about and I just simply scroll past em.
And yeah time on forums can take up a lot, but also Blizzard is slow in general to implement changes so I’m not sure why someone try and be involved every day of the week in terms of the customization threads.
Heck it could be easier for Blizzard to collate feedback once they read all what’s said and categorize the feedback/responses.
So like, currently there are people here being like, “Void Elves need Void Stuff!”
and don’t get me wrong. They do.
But you swing into Oribos and run around the loop, or you’re out in the world, for every spookdorei I run into, I’ll run into a ton more Void Elves that have natural skin tones.
So how do you parse that? That’s in game metrics and data showing that if a void elf customization pass rolls around that like, 5% of Void Elf players are there not to be High Elves.
And that’s a player base that is going to want stuff, as more people start playing them because they have options to play what they want.
And at this point you can’t really separate them. If you made a High Elf Allied Race do you take away the natural customizations to Void Elves?
So now they’re in a situation where the compromise keeps everyone from being happy.
They have tons of tools to gather data. I agree what you mean about seeing more high elves over void elf skin tones in game. I’ve seen the same.
The thing everyone should wrap their head around is that with the time and resources Blizz have, there’s only so much they can do in a certain time frame.
They’ve gone on record already of saying that yes they see some races don’t have as much options as others but that’s the nature of the time frames they have and the popularity of some models over the others.
So while yes some races have more limited options than others, because they’re less popular in general, that doesn’t mean Blizzard is adverse to giving them more options - it just may have to come a bit later on.
The LFD and NB customizations are a great example of this, lots of people on PTR checking them out and having a happy time with all the new customizations.
Whereas here on the forums the message you’d get is “omg they’re still so bad, blizzard why did you add x,y,z which I don’t care about, change the model!”
And that’s how Blizzard have to utilize all their tools.
Because what’s shown in game is very different than what we see here on the forums.
And tbh some people just like to complain and the forums are the #1 place to do that.
