It is a big shame indeed. I think the only time a non human was an Alliance protagonist was Velen in Legion, and in the end we got Turalyon leading his own forces. I sadly doubt the Human centrism is going to change. But I feel Blizz is aware because, if I am not mistaken, they removed the “Human potential” line from Shandris in BFA.
It is true that Void Elves likely would’ve stayed below Humans (I mean, if Night Elves who have scared Orcs before have been put below Humans… more so the Void Elves), but at least they were more original.
Except the Void. What do we know from the Void aside from seeing it only on enemies? We have one class that uses it, and is still partially light.
We have Fel portrayed on two classes, Magic portrayed on a whole class, Elements, Druidism, etc. But Void is not even a full spec. Because Shadow Priest is not even fully Void, is like 40% light.
And hopefully we don’t scrap that because Blizz will decide to show High Elves being there saying “hoorah!” for the humans instead.
I have not seen many Worgen, especially Warlocks. And I play on a server where the Worgen (males) are LOVED for some… especial benefit they have in some RPs. The most Warlocks I see are Void Elves.
False. The Void Elves in BFA were shooting people to outer space and rising dinosaurs with Void magic. In the book, Alleria was using the Void to manipulate people, enough to scare Jaina (or not sure who, but one character) with the brutality.
That was pretty sick, and way more than just opening portals.
