High Elf compromise

So you want a full blood elf appearance palette.

No.

Aww
sadface. I do. When it makes sense, of course. But I do understand your view on that. Factions do need identity. The more neutral races, the more that doesn’t exist. So I get it.

Agreed! People keep saying, “But Alleria!” as if that’s an argument, which it isn’t. Because she didn’t become a Velf the same way. So unless Blizz decides to open up some option for Belfs to willingly do what Alleria did to become one and join the ranks
it ain’t happenin’ for that reason.

It’s also not happening because they need to look different.

Except in lore it’s stated that Alleria isn’t even made a Void Elf in the same manner as the playable characters.

They aren’t the same in the way that Sylvanas and typical Forsaken are not the same.

And yes, I know the racial leaders are special and have different models and abilities. That was my point. Alleria having fair skin does not mean every Void Elf can.

Honestly, my biggest reason why I don’t like neutral races is because of the lack of opportunity. The Pandaren have no development whatsoever. I feel like that’s a waste. But it’s understandable because they’re neutral. If I’m totally honest, Alliance should have gotten Pandaren alone just like they were planned to originally, and Horde should have gotten something else like Mantid or Hozen. That way the Pandaren could actually have some kind of development.

I would of adored playing a Mantid.

Neutral races are lazy by design

always hilarious when they ask for blood elf(high elf) like skin tones on void elves, they clearly dont care about the lore of their oh so many alliance ‘high’ elves or where the white skin comes from

you can blame that partly on the devs, who have been leading people on for years. did you see that video where ion name dropped playable maghar and high elves, prior to legion? naturally helfers went into legion thinking they needed to keep the request going. then he said, no, play horde, but anythings possible. . and no playable high elves in near future. then another dev says, keep requesting, dont give up hope. and so it goes on and on, and all it does is frustrate everyone.

no we cant have high elves.
we also cant have customizations for our void elves unless they’re grotesque.

“If you want to play a High Elf, the Horde is there for you.”

I feel like that’s a fault of the writers and the fact that they never went back to actually develop how they handle that faction divide. They barely touched it. Probably because they were afraid to. They need better writers who can address these complex issues.

Sure, I can see that. Honestly, I said it the other day in another thread. I’d love it if someone took up the Pandaren as a writing angle. Put in some lover in between, gimme two Pandaren who are gruff and angry and deep voiced, and make them bloodthirsty as all hell. I wanna be shaking in my bamboo sticks.

They made void elves, that is their answer for the alliance. The only answer that makes sense. You cannot have a carbon copy of another race on another faction.

Blizzard “how can we give the alliance something they want that aligns with the high elf esthetic?”

Void elves, doesn’t take away from the blood elves identity, because it’s differant.

They want Void Elves with Blood Elf customization, and able to be Paladin.

They would also take Alliance High elves that are just Horde Blood Elves that didn’t join the Horde with the rest of the High Elves that are now just called Blood elves but are still the same people.

They in no way want a Horde playable race.

All of the allied races needs more customization options, atm. I hope we all get some later on in Shadowlands. I’m curious about ours, if we get something new. I saw right now on wowhead belves are getting some jewelry on their skin, as acessory. It’s prety neat and fits them!

What new customizations space elves shoud have, as acessory? I hope we get feathers on our hair, like Alleria have. Or at least the option customize our tentacles, trim them or make them bigger.

Weird how the horde didn’t have to compromise and get pink color night elf analogues.

the problem is, they didnt think it thru, as we have an extremely small customization option. nightborne do as well but they are different enough from nelfs that they could share skin colors with them and nobody would care.

their compromise is giving them exactly what they want

access to a horde race without playing the horde

Then they can play the Alliance High Elf, it just has voidy stuff and is cooler looking!

The “compromise” is realizing they are already High Elves.

HA! Yeah, it took me some time to even notice the difference. “So how are they diff
 oh
 antlers?”

You think you’ve got it bad? One of our Allied races is basically Tauren, but with moose antlers
and that’s it. That’s the only difference. And don’t even get me STARTED on the customization options they have.
