High Elf compromise

srs?

they have very obvious differences of skin tone, some cosmetic alterations such as, oh yea tentacles and utterly different themes

:frowning_woman:

I don’t care if they get blue eyes. In fact I’d be happy for those who want them. I just don’t think it has any bearing on the high elf request, personally. I want non glowing eyes with a variety of colors for high elves.

That’s YOUR requirement and Blizzard doesn’t have to stop using anything they don’t want to.

They can use them at their leisure and say “hey, if you want this, play horde cause that’s where their people are.” Maybe they need to stop using humans and other races in some of our areas or we’ll get this weird idea?

theyre for dalaran npcs. all of the data mined customization for all the races are for npcs because one of the selling points for shadowlands is updated NPC customization

Serious question though, what happens if the eyes shown turn out to not be apart of the customizations for Blood Elves, how do you think the opposition will act?

I’d feel bad for the people who wanted them. And I wouldn’t come running to the forums to throw it in people’s faces either, or tell them that their request makes them entitled, or call them dense.

i remember in the making of the burning crusade video, one the devs, i think it was metzen, saying
how are we gonna explain this one?

this was in reference to giving blood elves to the horde and letting them be paladins, though the lore they were trying to provide for them to explain why they were on the horde, claimed they had lost their souls and were bitter as a result. so the question was, how do you get a class that relies on the person having a soul, to be believable, if they dont have a soul. it was a double whammy.

Their differences are skin-deep. They joined the Alliance purely out of convenience, and not because they shared Alliance ideals. They retained all Blood Elf aesthetics and customs. They just happen to be slightly colored differently. Blood Elves getting too deep into magics they couldn’t control is typical Blood Elf.

Then they should expect people to continue to ask for high elves. It’s my requirement because I require some consistency in their garbage game with garbage lore. This attitude of “well its their game so they can do what they want so nyeh” didn’t work so well for BFA, did it?

They already gave Alliance Void elves who were just Blood elves anyway. It would have been so simple to just give Alliance High elves. But they chose not to do that and just make everyone dissatisfied.

I feel the same way.

PS. Would heart you but out of likes T.T

It’s kind of appalling the way some people treat others just for wanting to play a race they like in a video game.

Void Elves are Blood Elves who are High Elves.

Giving Alliance the features of a High Elf is giving them a Blood Elf that is a renamed High Elf.

Alliance got High Elves, just without the customization the Horde ones have.

Play Horde. I like races Alliance has and made Alliance alts.

It’s cause after 2-3 years of this and having the same conversations it’s just easier to get straight to the reality of it versus debating the dead horse pro ally helfers keep flogging and propping up like some sad Weekend at Bernie’s prop.

tbf while there are a couple people for whom their interpretation of the lore is the basis for their desire, the demand for these customization ‘options’ is clear proof that it is, always has been and always will be about the look for most people

and how come tyrande didnt run up to umbric and ask, hey, what guarantees do we have that you wont let the void and burning legion back to our world? i mean i just shake my head. the lore be a soggy beer pretzel draped over the precipice of the void.

Oh trust me, I’ve seen quite a lot of it happening quite often. And yes it is on both sides. But man, I wish people would see how bad the opposition gets too.

Nothing will change, and if anything the immense interest in blue eyes for blood elves would be made very apparent to the Dev team.

Although considering the nature of why they’re implementing these customizations, I find the chances of this to be very slim. These customizations are very clearly targeted at reflecting other existing clans, and groups of the same race to players, I don’t see a few “blind” options offering players much in that criteria at all.

it would outright suck if belfs dont get blue eyes after all this. i’m with ya on that one. but doesnt stop me from wanting playable high or half elves on the alliance.

Why do you feel the need to have the conversations then? Why does it hurt you that I want to play a race and so I ask for it?

I didn’t want certain races at all, but I am happy for the people that are enjoying them, and I didn’t spend any of my time going into their threads to tell them they were wrong for wanting them, or that they were entitled for wanting them, or that they were dense for not agreeing with me on why they shouldn’t be added.

Not really, they’d be different culturally. There wouldn’t be High Elf Warlocks or Demon Hunters, and they wouldn’t get golden eyes either because those are all Blood elf things. Silver Covenant are not Blood elves. They’re so not Blood elves that they persecuted and tortured Blood elves during MOP.

They got something completely different to what they wanted when it was pretty easy to just give it to them.

I do play Horde. Not sure what you’re getting at.

Ok? What does this have to do with anything. Alliance aren’t asking for a Horde race. They’re asking for a race they already have.
