High Elf Allied Race Megathread (Continuation)

And then, you circle around and run back to Mulgore. Unless you mean to tell me an army of thousands was brought to wipe out a hunting camp.

At worst that’s a minor plot hole (I’m not super sure it is, I think Guzzle’s explanation holds water), it doesn’t mean the story didn’t still happen the way it did.

Sometimes stuff makes narrative sense even if it’s got fridge logic issues after the fact. It’s possible the writers didn’t think everything through entirely, but the story is still the story.

A fair number of Alliance soldiers then undertook a massacre and looting spree, it makes sense they wanted to avoid going back past them.

They almost certainly were considering that they then went on to besiege Mulgore, they thought there was an attack coming from there so they didn’t just think it was a hunting camp.

Oh and you know, because they were under the command of a general. Field armies are led by generals. So that’s at least a few thousand.

Are you saying there are demons in search of a leader? I humbly accept this awesome responsibility. How’s the salary and when would they like me to start?

Fair enough. We send the Penal looters back to the brig in the Alliance side.

Maybe, but this is fantasy-land. I doubt it was that many. In any event, I don’t think the writers thought this through that much.

What? Hello? Did you completely ignore the fact that I mentioned Vereesa, Alleria, Auric, the Silver Covenant, and their mount/tabard?

Yeah, I’m done here. If you’re not going to acknowledge the fact that High Elves exist as an alliance race in World of Warcraft then it’s just not worth responding to.

similar in every detail; exactly alike.

High Elves and Blood Elves don’t fit the definition of identical.

Also it’s pretty safe to assume that Ion doesn’t know what he’s talking about. A couple years earlier he stated that he’d love to create subraces and mentioned High Elves as a candidate, why did he go back on his word? Why does Taela Everstride make it so clear that she’s not a Blood Elf? I just don’t understand how the creation of Void Elves somehow made it through over everything that was setup, it’s just silly to me.

Even if High Elves don’t become playable I still want them to get developed or get some closure at least. Void Elves make things difficult for everyone, ugh, I wish they were never released.

No of course not. They have different eye colours.

Different names too :stuck_out_tongue:

But they don’t because there are many that are neutral, and some who are even against the alliance. They are rather scattered in terms of alignment.

I mean…they are the same biological race soooooooooooo

If you’re a democrat, you don’t want to be called a republican.
Hence of her comment of “don’t worry im not a blood elf”, because you can’t tell the difference until they say what they are on the spot.

They "don’t" uuuuugh you people need to stop reaching.

? Do I need to link the definition of identical again?

So if a Blood Elf goes alliance he’ll get blue eyes then? How come Valeera hasn’t changed then?

Life involves those who disagree with you. Don’t groan and moan childishly just because of it. If you can counter this statement, do so. Or accept it. I don’t know, i’m not your dads.

I mean…you can…and you’d realize they fit that definition
Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Makes it rather awkward for you doesn’t it?

Well

  1. Valeera is not alliance. She is loyal only to Varian’s line first of all.
  2. She identifies herself as a blood elf and aligns herself to her people.
  3. If a high elf goes Horde, he’ll get green eyes then? Why doesn’t Lanesh Steelweaver, Sunreaver assassins/captains/frostmages not change then?

Eye color is not indicative of high elf/blood elf. That is a title, and is dependent on the individual.

never said it wasn’t. Doesn’t mean I can’t hate the horde for it and they still killed civilians at theramore who were in the process of evacuating.

Its a video game. Not sure you should be hating anyone

I view things from in universe. I play everything and see everything from all perspectives. My view changes by what I am playing in game at any given moment. Out of game I am me.

So anybody who kills someone, regardless of their motivations, are as a matter of fact “literally Reichsfuhrer”.

More nuanced insight from the Broflake at 10.

There was an entire post in which this was explained. What is your beef these past two days?

I don’t like silly one-off statements to go without being scrutinized by the masses, repeatedly. :man_shrugging:

I mean unless you want to say Kirin Tor High Elves are neutral then you’re sorta wrong. Kirin Tor has historically been an alliance faction, which is why they weren’t neutral in MoP.

Either way it’s been argued to death before, which is why I groan, dad.

But they don’t… Exactly the same. Exact. Just because Blood Elves are/were High Elves, doesn’t mean that High Elves are Blood Elves. In order for them to be exactly the same it’d have to go both ways. It’s like saying Blood Elves are identical to Void Elves.

Well screw her. She should be loyal to the rest of the Alliance. She can take her green eyes and get the heck out then for all I care!

Even though those NPCs are irrelevant, I agree with you.

So we’re just going to completely ignore the fact that High Elves have never had green eyes?

No. But anyone who kills someone is literally a killer regardless of their motivations.

Right, but that wasn’t what Broflake and Alamara were talking about.
