High Elf Allied Race Megathread (Continuation)

It’s a self imposed exile.

True, it’s interesting that they decided to represent the 7th Legion instead of the Silver Covenant. Maybe it wasn’t their decision

And yeah, guess they were mage priests or something

tbh I just think they were making a little cameo.

You missed that whole kerfuffle then?

It was something about mage priests if I remember correctly. Probably something dumb

Nooot quite. High elves have imposed it on themselves, for matters that resolved a decade ago. It is not a case where they are under threat. They just are choosing to say the alliance is better.

“Summarize this topic” feature might be what some devs use, so they can skip all the crap and only read the most upvoted posts.

I wouldn’t want Upvotes dictating things, since there is no downvote option to properly reflect how ppl feel.

Still, it is what “Summarize this topic” feature uses to filter posts, and as you’ve said, i doubt anyone would have the mental sanity to scroll over 20k posts, let alone developers. This feature is a life saver, i use it a lot on long threads.

And, well, a highly updated post is certainly better than a post with none, unless you can pretend there are twice as much invisible (disagreement flags) downvotes on it.

If the “upvoted” posts in question are a critical and informative post, sure.

Then again, considering how long this has been going on, I doubt upvotes will matter and Blizz will do what it wants regardless.

The downvote button was removed because of how abused it was, like how the report thread option is now abused.

Before your rebuttal high elves are indeed a very divisive topic I wouldn’t put extreme hate or approval of them in the “majority.” However I also don’t think downvotes would drown the upvotes. Maybe I’m wrong but we will never know.

I have held firmly in the belief that outside of the core mega posters, this thing isnt nearly as big as what we believe it is. I doubt even 3%of the subscribers use the forums at all. There is quite possibly a good portion of people completely unaware of what we are discussing.

There is always though who report threads falsely and get away with it. Blizzard really needs to step up there game, and really look into moderating the forums better than allow people to spam flags continuesly without any concequences.

I would rather a downvote button vs. something that bugs the system and unjustly locks a thread that doesn’t need to be locked.

Were people able to downvote with alt characters similar to how we can give likes with alts?

I don’t remember.

It’s the only way I could see the system being “abused.” If they limited likes, dislikes and flagging to acounts instead of characters the problem would be mostly solved

On the old forums, you couldn’t even like your own post, even if you switch to different characters. And you couldn’t mass flag from several toons on the same account as well.

Seems to me like we downgraded then lol

Well. If you search Warcraft High Elf concepts most of the images are the stuff being shown here.

It’s not so much how many read this thread but rather some people like what we did and it gets spread around.
