Yeah. Why are we against more playable races?
Because this suggested AR is terrible, and is just a Horde Race flimsily brought over to the Alliance? Atleast the Void Elves were researching forbidden magic, and are completely and irrevocably cut off from the sunwell.
OoOO VeRy InTeREsTiNg
So what makes it terrible?
Better than being literally blood elves, but our only difference is blue eyes. Go play Blood Elves for your elf fix, and let the Alliance have something interesting?
See above.
I dont see it.
High Elves are just Blood Elves with blue eyes. They should be a customization option for belves, especially since the faction conflict is dying down.
all you did was comment on the fact that the dalaran SC elves have a unique uniform. that their sole difference is they dont live in quelâthalas they live in dalaran
maybe one day youll elaborate for us on the differences
by this logic, alterac humans are a viable horde AR on the grounds that they live in alterac and are not loyal to the alliance but the political opinion is enough. despite being physically, thematically and culturally pretty much identical to the stormwind humans you can play as
like it or not blood elves ARE the high elf theme and aesthetics you desire and they are a part of the horde now. you see each faction consists of a multiplicity of races, each with a unique look, theme and story and which each compliment each other and work with each to forge a sense of faction identity. copying a core horde race to the alliance damages the horde as something that should be a unique experience within the horde is made accessible to the other faction
it is fundamentally unfair to expect horde players in general and blood elf players specifically to compromise their fantasy in this game to suit a small number of alliance players who have not reconciled themselves to the reality of how the factions turned out in this game. its just like ion said, if you want to be a high elf the horde is there for you just like if you want to be a human the alliance is there for you
High Elves are an Alliance race though. Hence the blue eyes to differentiate themselves from the green eyed Blood Elves.
Except they arenât? They went Horde back in TBC. The Silver Covenant is a flavor, NPC faction. Why have they never shown up away from matters pertaining to Dalaran?
They are.
Blood Elves did, you are correct.
Literally every faction outside of Horde and Alliance.
Story reasons.
They havenât marched up to the king, and signed the papers though.
So, High Elves went to the Horde. Since Blood Elves just named themselves as such to honor their dead.
Really reaching to add a boring, repeat race to the game.
Itâs funny because Iâve been present in every High Elf thread, both here and on MMO-C, since roughly WotLK and Iâve never once seen your name.
Please, tell me more about who is new.
If thatâs all that you gleaned from what I wrote, the issue is your ability to comprehend the written word.
They dont need to seeing as how theyâve been Alliance for a long time now.
There are High Elves who never changed their name. This is what we want
Its not reaching at all. Sometimes it is as simple as story reasons.
Furbolg have been a part of the Alliance since TBC with the Stillpine then. Why arenât Furbolgs playable yet?
So, you want High Elves who never changed their name. And thatâs their only difference? âIâm different.â
Ion already told you no. Everything since then has been the death rattle of a community that canât accept defeat.
Same reason the Taunka arenât.
That and for the various other reasons listen in this thread. Other people have their reasons and I have mine.
Didnât they also say no to Classic? Look what happened to that.
You say this like those people who are requesting playable High Elves, on the grounds that theyâre already members, would then turn around and be against playable Furbolg (who are also already members).
Silly.
Right, because like Frostborn Dwarves, and Tsukarr. Theyâre flavor NPCs.
They all boil down to. âLore be damned, let me play my fair-skinned elves on the Alliance.â
It took 15 years for that to happen, and after massive amounts of private servers, and a bad expansion. It didnât happen during WoD even. It was probably done as an anniversary thing.
In any event. You have 14 more years to go, before it might happen.
Iâd rather about 14 more interesting things be added to the Alliance. Than more elves.
Thatâs a wholesome opinion.
For now.
It isnât lore be damned at all. The lore supports High Elves on the Alliance.
I am pretty positive it will happen in the next expansion.
