When you say “the end result is the same”, it sure reads an awful lot like you know what Blizzard is or isn’t going to add in the future. :shrug
Okay here it is!
Comparison in silouette between BE Model, my mock up, and then Nigth Elf and Nightborne

As we can all see, the nightborne stance is quite striking on itself; but if we use the NE one on the NB model (Which is easy cause there’s a bug on WMV where it loads that one by default)

You can see that the model difference is minimal.
Like I’m not even saying my edit is as good as the NB model, TBH I was making a paper doll like base with a human pose rather than a strikingly different pose, I could have gone further, the point is that silhouette makes a huge difference.
Honestly, this feels like the Night Elves Grommash encountered in War3.
and yet ‘high’ elves appear talking with void elves in back alleys after you unlock them. ‘high’ elves appear in telogrus rift. they werent there before? and what about the warlock trainer summoner nolric? there isnt a single reference you can cite that they have no interest in ‘volatile’ magic
whew! what a difference! this is one of those fanfiction examples that ‘high’ elves are more ‘nobler’ just because
ok and? wearing a different uniform doesnt change the fact the race is already playable. that is absolutely bizarre reasoning on why the alliance should get playable high elves in a game where the factions are predicated on race and not ideology
This thread goes too fast. 5,000 posts in a week. It’s too close to the cap for my liking, it won’t hold until Blizzcon, when it will mark 2 years of almost continuous high/void elf threads.
I lost count a long time ago. But we must have gotten how many posts? Over 100,000, probably?
I love the receipts.
And gee, a good half of them must have been pro helf.
Well if nothing happens then it will be business as usual. If something happens then you bet your tushy that there’ll be 100 threads about High Elves so a megathread is pointless.
I’m not expecting something to happen.
That way, I’ll be pleasantly surprised if I’m wrong.
And as per usual, you miss the entire point while literally talking about it:
The argument is: There are more material and interesting differences, such as culture, lifestyle, ideology and affiliation, that go beyond the reductive notion of alignment dictated by race, specially when we see groups of races cross the political divide within the narrative.
The fact that the divide is predicated by race and NOT ideology IS the issue, in a game about the IDEOLOGICAL differences between two factions, where the racial exclusivity is born of a game play design that DOES NOT represent the reality of the narrative.
Since I have to spell it out for you.
Ion made a comment that basically results in Blood Elves = High Elves. Pros disagree with it, Antis agree with it. But the End result is the same regardless which leads to how you quote it not mattering because the Pros will disagree with it’s meaning and the Antis will agree with what it means and nothing short of an update from Ion will change this opinion.
So the phrasing of the quote doesn’t matter at all.
agreed. not seeing it happen but will be happy if it does.
Sounds delicious. What does everyone here want for a breakfast?
Pancakes and butter.
The flesh of my enemies.
Did I say that out loud?
Tired of eggs tbh… maybe pancakes…
Well sure, not because the race as a whole has moved on from using Fel Crystals doesn’t mean some Blood Elves are all about that Juice. It would be pretty hypocritical to start a “Say No To Fel!” campaign after they used the stuff to rebuild their civilization.
I feel like BE warlocks are “I dare you to say something” to any goody two shoes that gives them a rude look.
It’s a good thing I didn’t once say anything remotely akin to, “High Elves have no interest in volatile magic”.
You implied there weren’t any distinctions to speak of, I provided at least three instantly discernible ones after approximately 90 seconds of consideration. That’s the “and?”.
It isn’t a matter of agreeing or disagreeing – objectively, High Elves and Blood Elves aren’t identical. I don’t know what to tell you, fam, play the game a little more?
You must be new here. Otherwise you would have gotten it by now.
Oh wow. They’re not cocking their hips. That’s so worthy of being a whole new allied race.
They share 99% of history and culture. Their only difference boils down to: “MANA-TAPPING BAD, DESPITE IT BEING NEEDED FOR SURVIVAL.”
