Unless Ion is ignorant of his own game’s history (which is possible), I’m fairly certain his implication was that the implementation of High Elves would be too similar to Blood Elves, which is a reasonable position to have. A position by someone who has the creative imagination of a fly, but a position nonetheless. Not that HE = BE, a hyperbolic take on an already hyperbolic statement.

What was stated by Ion is that Blood Elves are kind of High Elves.
It’s appropriate to word it this way, because the modern BE’s are a group of High Elves who, after experiencing a series of very specific circumstances, developed a unique social, cultural, and political worldview.

It’s not appropriate to word it this way, because the modern HE’s aren’t at all derived from Blood Elves. The modern HE’s never experienced any of the specific circumstances which led to the formation of the BE’s, and thus never adopted the aforementioned unique social, cultural, or political worldview.
Interestingly, however, the modern HE’s did experience their own series of very specific circumstances, and they did develop a unique social, cultural, and political worldview of their own.
You act as if that person is talking to the developers or something lmao
The only disgusting person here is you twisting someone’s intent.
yes it is but its the truth. i like being honest. having alot of medical maladies, you look for ways to improve your life experience, if the physical is not resolvable. for me, having a playable race on my preferred faction, that i’ve wanted since tbc, is an example. it’s not a big step, it wont make breasts regrow or brain damage resolve, but it will make me quite happy. cant blame me for that.
on the other hand, i’m accustomed to not getting every little thing i want, so if we dont get playable high elves, the world wont end, it’ll just have less quality experience for me. i will just look for other things to fill the spot.
But like this doesn’t matter at all. Because the message is still the same in the end if the Pro camp disagrees with it and the Anti camp agree with what was said.
The message being Blood Elves = High Elves and vice versa. You can disagree with it all you want but the wording doesn’t matter when the end result is the same.
eek sorry you felt you had to edit that. not trying to make you feel bad. just speaking my mind. why would i fight this hard for high elves when they’re on the horde? cause i like the idea, it sounds good to me.
this is why i got an orb of sindorei, why i created draenei and also got an orb of deception (that meant i could use one, then the other, for a grand total of 10 minutes of being a playable high elf on the alliance.
Feel like I missed something horrendous while I was cooking.
I think some people are hoping for it because we’ve been seeing hints about Vulpera and Mechagnomes since BFA beta so we’re still getting things “advertised” two years ago. So, now is the chance to get something that wasn’t planned/set in stone.
With that in mind, if Blizzard doesn’t announce anything about Allied Races on this Blizzcon, I think our next chance will be in 2021’s Blizzcon because this year they’ll give us a glimpse of everything we’ll be getting in the next couple of years (2020-2021).
I’m curious what Mecha Gnome hints were there?
files that showed they had alot of work done on them. eventually culminating in fully animated dances. same with vulpera. this is why some thought sethrak too because they also had alot of work done on them but they never got dances.
Data within 8.0. We knew about “junker gnome island” since beta. There was a half-mechanical “junker” prairie dog model. And the gnomish junkyard in Tiragarde with a clearly dangling plotline. Plus gnomish wrench weapons craftable by Engineering since 8.0 that didn’t fit any art style found in BfA by then (and yes, their skins fit perfectly with the color scheme of mechagnomes’ robotic parts).
People were speculating about “junker gnomes” since the gnome model was available, and due to the prairie dog, many assumed they’d be half-mechanical.
THe speculation was timid until the “mechagnomes” and Mechagon were revealed in Blizzcon 2018. That confirmed the rumors for a lot of people.
Learn something new every day.
Wait, I like smoky old bars
Didn’t say they were a bad thing
When the hell did Undead Elves become a traditional Warcraft race?
I don’t feel bad. I stand by my post.
The dark rangers were cool in WC3, they were a merc hero tho so not really core to wow, but relatively new due being introduced in TfT
Undead Elves go way back from the RTS.
When Arthas Killed Sylvanas and she got her body back.
