High Elf Allied Race Megathread (Continuation)

Really? Are you going to ignore the entirety of what I posted for the sake of strawmanning me?

So…you’re going to pull a Kirela and Oreahna and start saying obnoxious things because I don’t agree with you?

one moment please
plays elevator music

yeah i get you dislike those races as paladins, but race and classes are tied together to be meaningful moreso than other MMos/

You are acting unseemly. Cut it out.

Honestly if high elves aren’t addressed one way or another by blizzcon I’ll probably be done for a while.

If not for the Night Warrior event I never would have dreamt of the night elves as paladins. I went LFD and I like the racials for extra deeps, but the screeching is wretched. Lol

Im sorry for trying to debate peoples discussion topics to get High Elves playable. If you feel like were targeting you, its because you are here trying to debate us. Im not attacking you personally in anyway, just the way youre trying to argue that High Elves cant be playable. Its unseemly to feel like a victim when you dont win an arguement.

Theres a reason I try to not go back and forth with you. Youre here just to argue, not discuss.

development has already addressed playable alliance high elves

‘blood elves are our high elves’

‘they arent really out there in the same way, theres a couple, allerias back’

‘blood elves are high elves giving that race to the alliance would blur the faction identities too much, we like the AR to be more distinct’

‘there are no more high elf hubs where alliance high elves could come from’

A discussion involves individuals with different ideas coming together including those which might be oppositional to yours. Yes, this means an argument occurs, and if you find the notion so disagreeable then that is fine, but do not start to take passive aggressive tactics then feign innocence when you are called out on it.

It doesn’t fool anyone here.

Let alone the definition of a debate is people with opposition ideas having an argument. So…contradiction by complaining about my arguing with you?

To be fair, like the last thread, the ultimate purpose as outlined in the OP is for people who are interested in playable High Elves to be able to discuss particulars – not, contrary to popular belief, to have a back-and-forth with people who aren’t interested in playable High Elves at all.

I don’t disagree with what you’re saying in this post, excepting the implication that this thread was intended to be a debate platform.

The problem with this assertion is that it is a request to essentially create an echo chamber in an area which is public and subject to view by all who enjoy this game. If one desires to have a discussion with only like minded individuals there are various options available. That is something I consider if I make a thread. I cannot get upset when an individual provides a viewpoint directly opposing my own.

as this is the high elf megathread, and its clear to be a contaiment thread as every other high elf thread is locked or deleted, it is the only place to discuss high elves. even casmir admits this in the OP

It’s more-or-less impossible to create an echo chamber in a public space, just owing to how public spaces function – but that isn’t what I was talking about in any case.

I was merely reminding you that the intended focus of the thread wasn’t for people to debate whether or not playable High Elves should, or shouldn’t, be implemented; rather, it was created in order to discuss how it might be possible to implement them.

It’s certainly possible for both sides of the discussion to weigh in, but more often than not the talking points aren’t at all reflective of a “Could HE’s work like this?” or “Could HE’s work like that?” angle – which is the intended purpose of the thread.

you have the legacy of quel’thalas discord for that

We also have this thread.

Do you go to local church gatherings and blather on about how religion is fake news, too?

This is feedback for blizz on how we think they can be implemented and other ideas related to that.

Trying to silence us isn’t going to work.

Except that is the intent of those who are present when they complain of those who engage in a debate or argument with them on those notions of how to implement HE’s in various ways. What an individual intends and what the thread becomes are two different things, and a desire to try and moderate and demand individuals follow a specific intent is simply a desire to try and force a singular line of thinking. A futile aspect.

One can create a thread intending on discussing the implementation of racial weapons, but some may disagree and this is perfectly acceptable because it is engaging all aspects of that discussion intent. So I cannot agree with the notion that individuals who demand “don’t argue with me” or “this isn’t the intent of this thread” have some ethical right to the matter.

If one desires such a thing to remain along a singular line of thought, then it needs to be held in a more private area. Hence, why corporate meetings are private and not subject to public viewing.

we arent in church, we are on the official discussion forums every thread here has opposition in it

And why do you oppose High Elves being playable on Alliance?

You admitted it yourself, it is a public forum

Church gatherings actually accept those who are oppositional to their views and wish to critique them, but do so in a way which would not disturb others during a specific intended period such as mass.
The forums do no such thing given their public existence. They don’t control such aspects and the moderators agree. If it is relatable to the subject, it is free game. One cannot be annoyed for such a thing.

I do not believe that is the intent Avarie. More along the lines of “if you don’t want anyone disagreeing with you, you have a medium to allow such a thing.”.
I do not believe anyone here agrees with the notion of silence anyone.

So went around Dustwallow Marsh and did find that there were a decent amount of High Elves there. Now, I will say, they are mob npcs for the Horde to kill, but plenty of times, mobs we have killed in game, named or not, usually come back in future expansions, indicating that we didn’t successfully kill them or there were plenty we had missed.

Anyway, seeing the amount that were there has me thinking that the High Elf fleet that went with Jaina to Theramore was a large one. It is possible that maybe a group of those High Elves went ahead and explored Kalimdor and made a settlement. A mountainous region, perhaps, one that could be added to a zone or be made into a zone. Or an island off the coast of Kalimdor.

Just a little idea I’m throwing out there to be expanded upon.

Actual numbers and scale of locations isnt able to be seen in game. If it was true the population of Stormwind is like 300 people. Theres obviously a source of people coming to fight for the humans.

It took thrall a week to cross the barrens when it takes us 20 mins.
