High Elf Allied Race Megathread (Continuation)

Once again… what the devs say is kind of irrelevant until put into action. If they have finite answer of “no” i can accept it and move on with my life. But here is the problem, he has been called out on his lack of care for lore… because he is not the lore guy. If he was the main lore guy then we could take what he says for his word… but his dismissive tone is that he doesnt care about lore, just gameplay, and raid/dungeon mechanics.

while i suspect as much, i dont think you can prove that assertion, which means at the end of the day, we’re right back to where we were. we’d like playable alliance high elves and you dont think we should get them.

The Dev’s certainly have given them ammo. But the way the Devs have handled this topic is well unsavory. If they don’t intend on it or do intend on it… then it would be great to see that clarification. If they said no, i would still play and still enjoy aspects of the game. But i would absolutely love to roll a high elf on the alliance, as would many others here. It would just be another aspect that makes the game even more enjoyable to many of us.

what the devs say trumps anything you or me think and especially a biased fan with an agenda. in this case blizz hasnt changed their minds for well over a decade now and continued to hammer it down, whenever it was brought up. it is one consistent stream of no they are already playable over the years. ignoring what they say and saying well they could always change their mind is quite the whimsical argumentation to be honest, not to mention the allaince high elves arent really suitable even as a subrace, due to literally no feature on their own, even the ones brought up in this very thread, wc2 tattos etc. is not a real argument, since these customizations are already part of the farstrider theme. the high elves can really only be defined by the things they did after they split off from the blood elves which after living together for 7000 years was basically yesterday

it is likely he doesnt say NO NEVER because he doesnt want to tie the hands of a future dev team no matter how unlikely this is to happen, it is probably the reason why

it is not ion saying no personally. decisions in wow are team based he just speaks for them because hes the dame director. you can stop scapegoating him as the reason it didnt happen

not scapegoating, he just seems disconnected from this topic entirely.

But of course you are trying to keep me and others quiet on the subject by pointing at the devs.

Oh, I wasn’t implying that my theory “was” the case, simply connecting dots. Unlike Varian Wrynn, Auric Sunchaser has pride and devotion in the Thalassian race evidenced by his dialogue when a Sin’dorei completes the quest for the Quel’delar. As far as I remember he doesn’t mention anything about the Alliance in his speech though so I’m confused as to why you think he’s referring to it. If that was the intention of his speech im sure blizzard would have included something about it.

I really think the he said she said bs needs to end. Devs have said no to things in the past and caved when all the person in question said “not right now”. Stop trying to fall back onto what someone says when WoW makes changes on a whim.

All we can do is ask for what we want and provide ideas for how they may be implemented!

Right… but the devs have very clearly placed fleets of High Elves in Kul’Tiras and Stormwind since 1995, this is the principle reason why this debate exists in the first place.

Also, the devs put High Elves in Kul’Tiras even after the time Prince Kael rallied the survivors in Quel’Thalas and announced themselves as Blood Elves.

This is the only argument you can make against something established in the lore 9 years before WoW even existed.

WoW does not take place in your WC rts time bubble

That doesn’t make any sense, I don’t think you actually care about this game’s lore to begin with.

You are the one clinging to the alliance of humans dwarves and high elves. Which doesnt exist anymore

Not to hear the Yankees tell it.

But they will never do that, Elyssaria. Why would they when - regardless of their internal decisions - they can make vague statements that still leave some hope? The worst they have to contend with right now is, well, nothing. Nothing that happens here affects them in the slightest, upset people on the forums is not an issue.

This isn’t like flight where the forums almost universally erupted into one flaming thread after another and subs legitimately dropped post-announcement. This is an issue that’s pretty well-contained in a couple of threads, so there’s no upside for them to say “No, we’re never doing that. Not ever.”

If I had a gold piece for every time Blizzard has promised something and then reneged, I could buy a token.

If you’re stationed in Kul’Tiras, you have to live there, raise a family, build a home. You’ll most likely build your house in a village where other family members live along with the rest of your people.

This reality was completely omitted from the southern Eastern Kingdoms, Dustwallow Marsh and Kul’Tiras.

…ain’t worth beans in Boston until its put in the game!
Or have you not yet figured out why Q&As have suddenly ceased?

While they ARE representing as Blizzard employees, what they mean must first be IMPLEMENTED! And the right way!

Or all we get is memories of what could have been; from the Dance Studio to Island Warfronts.
