The distance for those catapults needed to launch their projectile was too great… maybe a trebuchet could have made that distance… or if sylvie would have used her bats or Naval fleet then yes.
But if you wanna get into the merits and aftermath of WOT we could have another discussion in a different thread.
They may have come from the same culture, but they’re living completely different from the blood elves now, and they have been living different from them for a while. The void elves, previously blood elves, joined the Alliance quite recently, being the reason why they aren’t that different from them.
Especially those living in outland, unless they crossed paths with their bretheren who followed illidan, they would have no clue of the things the blood elves turned to.
The blood elves haven’t remained the same either, and they haven’t gone evil either, but they have to changed their culture in ways.
i’d say its because their culture changed but belf culture is the same as it has ever been (though thats arguable if the concept of royal lineage has been removed?)
The blood elves live in an enchanted city, dominated with the desire to become magisters, pushing the use of magic beyond what is necessary. The High Elves live in rural locations, lodges, and human kingdoms that require more physical labor and different attitudes.
That was surprisingly easy to figure out how they live and act differently from each other.
if youre talking about allerian stronghold again, they arent there anymore. they were just a few elves holding out til the portal reopened and the alliance discovered them. its not a bastion of high elf civilization, it was turned into a human settlement as evidenced by the human npcs who outnumber them. its likely, sick of fighting, they returned to their homeland with auric sunchaser now that the portal was opened and plot of TBC resolved
