High Elf Allied Race Megathread (Continuation)

I do think 8.3 will have high elves in the story (I think everyone knows my prediction by now), but 8.2.5? Unlikely.

I really hope they don’t go the turning high elves into void elves route. i know it’s possible, maybe even likely, but it would be really underwhelming to me.

Let’s hope I’m wrong.

I am hoping they will have a role in the story soon, with altered models to show what differences a playable model would have from blood elves.

Yeah, this would be a bit of a stretch to do, and would more than anything be a contrived ending to the high elves.

The dragon isles could conceivably be on this expac too, but I’d rather an expansion be built around it. I miss wow having dragons. :fire:

But something done would be better than nothing, and I am never going to ask for an AU High elf

What would bug me the most is the lack of class options if they are just rolled into void elves.

I’d really like them to have pallies and to go in a story direction where they get something like shaman as well.

Alliance could use as many Paladin options as horde has with Shamans. That would be nice. At this point, Kul’tirans, night elves, and high elves would be the best prospects for paladins.

8 races on horde can be shamans, 6 can be paladins on alliance. Not saying faction favoritism here
just saying an original core alliance class could use a few more playable on their side.

Exactly, it needs to be evened out!

Do you really think High Elves care enough to get involved?

I mean, their city and people fell to the Scourge and they didn’t rally to their people (granted, for “reasons”). They stayed “High Elves” and couldn’t be bothered to reorganize, keep their culture going, opted instead to form smaller groups scattered here and there.

Silver Covenant forms but they exist solely to maintain peace in Dalaran where Alliance and Horde intermingle.

They’ve sat on the sidelines except for maintaining portals and throwing up some shields. None of note are even involved in this expansion. Vareesa is chilling in Dalaran doing her neutral Silver Covenant thing. Alleria is hanging out on a boat. Their racial leader (if they have such a thing) hasn’t been in any story in many expansions.

They just don’t come across as a people motivated to do anything but the minimum
seemingly content to be background filler in major cities and not wanting to get their hands dirty.

They seem to aid the Alliance minimally as a sole reminder to all that they didn’t follow Kael’thalas. Otherwise they don’t really do much.

Considering their small numbers as per all sources, more likely to turn them into Void Elves to get them into the game. Add to that “crack squadron” that doesn’t really do much lol.

They’re a pretty NPC but there’s literally nothing to indicate they’re going to be active in BfA at this point unless you take your one portal keeper and your two shield generators, throw them in some 7th Legion armor, and send them into the fray.

any new info from ptr?

weird. all my velfs just disappeared from avatar selection. just as i posted with hyperspace, it logged me out and when i logged back in, no velfs

All of these points have been discussed, it’s just like the blood elves, barely seen when the other horde troops are throwing bodies at the enemies
the thalassian elves altogether don’t seem to be big of wasting lives.

The night elves have no choice because blizzard likes to use them as a target.

Not yet.
I’m waiting for wowhead to update their NPC database.

Also, PTR servers are still off, we will get more info once people can log in and experience things.

There’s also a lot of encrypted files, which is why datamining has been so unfulfilling this time. I wonder what Blizzard is hiding

And yet there’s Lor’themar going into Eternal Palace to fight Azshara while Alleria stands on a boat in Boralus handing out wonderfully useless upgrades and Vareesa sits Switzerland-neutral in Dalaran. Any other noteable High Elves I’m forgetting?

Then Lor commits himself and the Belfs to rebelling against Sylvanas while one High Elf ports you to Stromgarde and two more throw up a shield for ya
 but don’t join the fight.

Hardly as inactive as the High Elf racial leader
who’s name eludes me cause he does nothing in the game, ever.

TL/DR: High Elves aren’t an important part of the game. Clearly, neither the devs nor the writers think they’re of worth to the story or the game.

Well there are supposed to be more Blood elves than high elves so there is that.

But Blizz seems to have a hat that they pull names out of for appearances in game. All of the wind runner sisters are MIA.

the entirety of the dalaran server characters are gone from the database but are still in game. anybody else have chars on dalaran server that you can view from avatar selection on the forums?

Was going to point out the sisters. Everyone is watching to see what theyre going to do. The three sisters are sort of the center of the climax for this xpac. We’re probably going to see major changes in 9.0 based on their story.

Just because High Elves arent being used right now doesnt mean they arent important. Dalaran doesnt have a role this expansion, does that mean it isnt important?

Well going by the logic of some, any race that doesn’t have a prominent role in the story at that exact moment we can assume they’re all dead.

Oh, look, we are ignoring 5 past expansions because the current one had to “focus” on the new additions (which have been since forgotten) instead.

Dalaran and the Council of Six are important, sure. World threats happen and WHAM! They’re on it.

The High Elf presence in Dalaran, including the Silver Covenant and THEIR importance
 that’s up for debate.
