High Elf Allied Race Megathread (Continuation)

I support High ELves, even if all they do is give us more customizations in the character creation screen for any color skin besides BLUE!

I mean come on, why did they pick blue of all colors ro do a skin tone? How about something more earthy or neutral?

The idea of half elves is also appealing, the most obvious choice would be human/high elf. That would give you the higher population numbers.

In the lore they are different, and visually they are also different. They are actually a genetically separate race.

Walks into thread
Sees the mountain of work put into it
Now if only Blizzard would make this real

High Elves in lore are different and High Elves can be visually different too.

Blood Elves use fel magic and now holy\arcane energies so genetically they are different from High Elves.

" The nightborne or shal’dorei in the native tongue are a powerful and mystical race of elves who live in Suramar. Since the city was first separated from the rest of the world over 10,000 years ago, they are no longer true night elves and have evolved by the Nightwell into a unique elven species."

  • Have a giant city
  • Are genetically not night elves
  • Split off 10,000 years ago

Yeah, not comparable to a Blood Elf with a tan.

No genetically and culturally they are the same. This has been confirmed by the devs.

Here, have a void elf. Gives you exactly what you asked for.

No one ever asked for void elves.
And void elves are not high elves. They are blood elves.
If at least they had a proper introduction, maybe people would be more open to them. But we are not going to take a horridly-introduced lore-deprived race that has nothing to do with high elves as a fair compromise.

The “high elves” elves who are working for the Alliance are the same people as the blood elves. From the void elf wiki:

" Permanently transformed by the process, […] and established themselves as the ren’dorei."

The void elves are an actual distinct branch of elves. The devs have said that the high elves like the silver convenant are still just blood elves being stubborn.

as i maintain, the sole difference between a blood elf and a high elf is political. it was initiated in an ideological schism a mere thirteen years ago in game, but that ideological issue was rendered moot with the restoration of the sunwell. this leaves only the political aspect of their divergence, whether they are horde or alliance

it is not a mistake to conflate looking like a blood elf with playing a high elf. blood elves are high elves. they represent the warcraft ideal of the high elf trope in fantasy. the devs even say this

an alliance high elf would have been born in and lived in silvermoon for most of their life, so has every blood elf

an alliance high elf would have an addiction to magic, so does every blood elf

an alliance high elf would be sustained by the sunwell, so is every Blood Elf

an alliance high elf is a fair skinned, so is every Blood Elf

i could go on. in every respect, up until the point of ideological divergence, a blood elf is indistinguishable from an alliance high elf

the fantasy of being a political exile does not create a new theme, aesthetic, culture or physical look. high elves maintain all of that. what they are, is alliance blood elves

This is an argument I’ve been noticing being used against High Elves. How they would look the same, that there will be little to no differentiation between them and the blood elves. It’s like they don’t look at the actual proposals and unique designs made for them.

Also, you made an excellent point comparing them with the Mag’har. Different skin tones and possible posture options to symbolize which group of High Elf they came from.

Because there is no explanation for the physical differences. It’s all counter to what we already know about the elves working under the Alliance. As has been said by the devs, they are culturally and physically the same as any other elf living in Slivermoon.

Exactly. Have you ever seen a “Void elf Super Duper Megathread”? No. I don’t know why these guys are saying we asked for void tentacle lovers elves.

Ty Somand! You always come through :star_struck::star_struck:

I wouldn’t say it was a coordinated attack, just people wrongly flagging posts because they don’t like them

It happens to the anti thread too, it’s a shame to see

They can make them culturally different and physically different. Use your imagination.

Blizzard pulled time-walking Orcs from Draenor and pulled Void Elves out of nowhere they can whip something up to appease the High Elf fans.

( and no Void Elves are not what High Elf fans want)

You think that’s it? The threads were shut down in a couple of minutes of each other.

I will point out I happened to go through the big helfer discord’s chat and their immediate reaction was that it was us so that they should posse up and do it to us.

There are plenty of High Elves out there in different areas of the world and outside of it that have yet to be brought in. As Casmir suggested, those other groups of High Elves can be similar to the Mag’har, coming from different parts of the world and out that have lived different lifestyles from each other. Once brought in, they would be something new. Also, like Alamara said, they would also bring in something that has been missing. Something HE supporters have been wanting for many years but never got.

Was that said in the discord? I’m a member of it as well, although I don’t visit it that often. I’ll have to hop in it today to share my disdain for that kind of behavior, it should not be promoted
