I wouldn’t call High Elves “real elves”. I’m sure the other elves have something great to bring to the table.
That said, this game feels incomplete without a “standard” elf race that is aligned with the humans, dwarves, and gnomes.

Nah. We’ll get Gnominators and Deep One samurai before we get Blood Elves but blue-eyed.
we need saberon based on worgen skeleton. imagine how pretty with a leopard skin on worgen female skeleton.
In D&D maybe, but that doesnt apply to WoW. WoW and D&D are separate, so lets keep it that way.
Then don’t bump the thread?
No. If they’re too stupid to figure out basic sanitation (not crapping in your homes), then they’re too stupid to be an AR.
they are separate but they aren’t. if you read it, its like text book wow lore. they are so alike. for example, here’s a dark elf (drow), also known as a troll
well you gotta have an AR based on worgen. so what do you propose?
<.<

Samurai SkipJack?
That said, when people say “we have too many elves as is” I point to D&D and Elder Scrolls as examples that you can never have too many elves in Fantasy fiction
But similar or not, this isn’t D&D.
Stomps in, plants her axe and, after a …or three…has her say
…or three…has her say
I liked best, amongst the fanart from previous threads(maybe including this one) the male/female forms taken by the Drangonflights.
Especially Kalegos. Yummy.
The increased height, shortened ears(for the love of the AESIR, shorter ears!) and more musculat, as well as a few other diffs like /silly and /dance would make them SO much more different enough from the Horde’s #1 worry.
PS Thank you forum mod peoples!
Who says they have to be based off of Worgen skeleton? The Void Elves aren’t based off of night-elves, at least not directly.
Besides, here’s some traits the Deep Ones share with the Worgen:
-Cast out from their home
-Have a deep hatred for another race, ruled by a evil woman
-Both are monstrous looking, and willing to use darker methods to defeat their enemies
Can I point to the Complete Book of Elves for 2nd Ed. Ad&D as a counter proof that, yes, you can have too many elves.
To be fair in the Elder Scrolls world it seems like EVERYTHING is an elf, including the dwarves and orcs.
My line art so far. I have to fix the poor hummingbirdies wings and add more variation to my line weight and fix some goof ups, plus draw solid line work for the bow she’s supposed to be holding.
https://imgur.com/rD6EiM4Also the greatest fantasy fiction of all time, the works of Tolkien, ws SWARMING with elves.
…including High Elves.
(another name for the Noldor so calm down)
there’s a great video series called behind the scenes for vanilla wow and tbc, etc. and in the vanilla wow one, the devs admit that wow elves are dark elves. this is why it says in the lore they are descended from dark trolls, as they are all drow. highborne, nightborne, night elves are drow, and the high elves are just a fairer, smaller drow.
Although really, while he did love him some Elves (although not quite as much as Peter Jackson) one of the main themes of LOTR is that of the humans coming of age as the power of the world. The fading of the Elves and their exodus to the West were a set up for the human kingdoms to mature and find their own power. Like the significance of Farimir in the books at least was to show that normal humans have the strength that was generally associated with the elves, or the Dúnedain.
funny, to me the whole book was about hobbits. i mean all of the books. hobbits save the day. hobbits carry the ring. hobbits are the central heroes. hehe
Yes yes!
Remember also how the elves were the Firstborn; starting with vast kingdoms and huge populations.
As you said, the Humans prospered even as the elves faded.
