In all fairness, the Warcraft Chronicle very clearly defines the conflict between Elfkind and Trollkind as being intensely violent and intensely long-lived. As such, the most appropriate course would’ve been to delineate the Alliance as “the faction for Elfkind”, and the Horde as “the faction for Trollkind”.
Alas, that ship sailed in 2007.
If we’re going to have any discussion of “what’s fair”, as it relates to this particular issue, we can start having a serious conversation when the Alliance gets 2 to 3 varieties of Troll.
- Dark Trolls already worship similarly to the Night Elves, they’ll do.
- Forest Trolls are radically opposed to Quel’thalas, and Quel’thalas is Horde. It’s believable that they’d join the Alliance.
- Blood Trolls are vehemently opposed to Zandalar, and Zandalar is Horde. Need I say more?
In the name of fairness, Blizzard, let’s get this done.
