Or they could have taken all that lore that they already had for that expansion, tweaked some dialogue to have Liadrin go all diplomat and Tyrande decide that they weren’t worth her time, and bam, you’ve got the excuse. If they had been planning it as an AR all along they probably would have had someway that they’d look closer to the NPC models.

I don’t remember a massive outcry for night elves on the horde ever, and I don’t think anyone was expecting the NB to be anything but another NPC faction that we’d ditch after the expansion until the AR announcement. So no, I feel like after the decision to make AR was a thing the NB went horde so that they could do what they felt they could to give the alliance the blood elf model

Yes, I’m sure they gave the Horde the race with all the lore and development just so they could give the alliance a loreless belf recolor.

No one is denying the playable model for NB is lacking, but that’s because it took effort; Void Elves are a simple recolors with different hairstyles, NB required a lot more effort to resemble the NPC model.

We all know they have a palette difference from belves, but keep their model, silhouette, and origins-- How bad does the color of light blue really impact things? You play one for heavens sake. Did a smurf key your car?

The problem with Void Elves is not that they are blue, but that they don’t have the lore of the High Elves we are asking for. How hard is to actually understand that?

Yet they missed their chance. We could have had it all, High Elf exclusive background and blue skin, but instead we got turncoat BE’s.

As to the point; if you can use a palette swap to have a different look, Nightborne prove that a change in stance and other minimal aesthetics also work.
