Hide Weapon

There isn’t any absurdity to it… it interferes with the readability of pvp.

That’s it the arguments done. Its not about if you have a addon to off set it.

Please elaborate further.

If weapons aren’t sheathed during PvP combat, then hidden sheathed weapons are not relevant to PvP combat.

The answer doesn’t change because you repeat the question.

I’m not asking you to repeat that 1+ 2 = 4.

I’m asking you to explain how on earth you arrived at the answer of “4”.

Explain to me how hidden sheathed weapons will have an impact on pvp.

I have seen similar requests in other games as well and it is typically the sheathed weapons, they want invisible.

For actual fighting I want this as an invisible transmog for some weapon classes. Typically fist weapons to FINALLY achieve that unarmed martial art look on monks AND some other classes. I also want to get rid of ANYTHING the monks refuse to equip when fighting. It is silly to have a monk armed with swords only to have them strapped on the back, unused.

An unarmed look can also be nice for casters. An ability to transmog a staff to invisible would be nice. If the staff does not take part in the casting animation but just sit on the back this could be an alternative.

As such, any weapon that remain strapped on the back when “used” and all fist weapons (or transmogged into a fist weapon look) should have an invisible option. If I want to create a bare fisted warrior that should be an option.

The game knows when you are PvP fighting. Just disable this functionality when you do. Or just have a “truesight” option for PvP. Anything that have been altered in appearance would appeared as if they had not. This would solve the PvP players worry about not seeing other players’ gear.

I don’t think the game does. The only version ive seen of this is to give characters entire transmogs. I rather not turn off all transmogs for one single look. I don’t know if you can trick the engine to disable it by itself.

Thing is, no actual pvp’er looks at transmog, lol.

From a meta standpoint, it’s not even an argument.

From a role-playing standpoint, transmog effectively nullifies any argument to this effect anyways.

I’m calling troll on this one. And I even gave the fella like three attempts to explain their position.

Battlegrounds, Areana’s, duels and Warmode. If you are not doing PvP in a battleground then you are doing something wrong. There are entire PvP talents specifically and only for PvP, so the game does indeed know.

None of those talents change weapon visuals so im not sure the point you are trying to make.

If you’re a monk, there’s a vendor on the Peak of Serenity that sells hidden fist weapons.

But it only works for monks and fist weapons.

The game cannot USE the PvP talents if it doesn’t know when you are doing PvP. It is really that simple. PvP are now so separated from PvE that it is almost an entirely separate game. There is no need whatsoever for PvP concerns to effect PvE players at all.

As opposed to knowing when someone is silenced, which has zero visual indicator?

Clearly it’s not that big of a deal.

I need to check that out. The closest other option would be to create a bloodelf monk since they, years ago started with some handwraps. They were grey and not possible to pick up by the transmog system at the time.

Thanks for the info.

There is waaaaay too much going on visually to reliably be able to look at a characters model to determine if they’re disarmed.

This would also imply large 2h tmogs are strategically worse than smaller 2h tmogs, and even the top 0.01% of WoW sweats don’t have a tmog meta. It’s the epitome of a non-issue.

I am personally against dual wielding two handed weapons because that is just silly, but fury warriors are supposed to do that. An option then is to shrink the weapons with a small two-handed weapon transmog. Hopefully there is some. Most of the one handers are large enough to be two handers and some are even too big for that.

Misinformation. The monk weapon isn’t removed.

On my priest, I discovered a main-hand and off-hand item that are invisible when sheathed.
So naturally I began using those. I am a caster, I use magic, not weapons.

Pre-patch hit and now they are visible on my waist when sheathed- and are in my hands but still on my waist when unsheathed, resulting in me having… 4 weapons.
Apparently they’re still invisible to other players when sheathed so it’s only me that can see them now. No less annoying.
(They also remain the same on my waist even though I’ve transmogged them- I have to log out and in to get them to update [and they’re still stuck to my waist])

The fact they’ve added the ability to ‘hide pants’ but not added the ability to ‘hide sheathed weapons’ outside of using a backpack item (which doesn’t work for MH/OH casters) is mind boggling.
Weird direction.
Transmog Bug

As a hunter that likes to wear dresses it looks funky with a bow half the time and I always try to find a back that hides my bows (I’m ok with it in combat off course), but then I’m stuck at looking at the back item. I second this request. Hide weapons out of combat please.
