Hide my name option here on forums like in overwatch2

Overwatch2 released option for people to hide their names while playing to PROCTECT them from other not good players who stalk them.

Can we have that option in our forums too? That would be great future for most people who could just hide their name and feel more safe from stalkers stalking their profile or armory.

I personally would love such future here to feel safer. thoughts?

No one gets a free pass to hide and be toxic and harass people here, no.

You want to hide? Go make a Classic character.

Then put Btags under our names and make TL and ignores account wide.

I want to feel safe from not friendly players. Overwatch2 implemented such a nice future to protect more people. This could be optional too, and you wont need to use it.

The OW2 feature appears to be for the game, not the forums?

If you don’t feel safe posting on the forums, then don’t post on the forums.
have you ever even been recognized in-game from the forums?

If posting on the WoW forums, or anywhere online makes you feel unsafe, I suggest you stop posting online.

This is freely open for anyone to look at. I don’t see how this is remotely an issue for someone to look at your fictional armory for a fictional game.

I’m all for Btags. Not to make people feel safer though, just because to me, it makes more sense.

thank you! I really think it is great idea. Overwatch 2 devs stepped in to protect more people because it is an issue. Maybe we should have that option too here

We already had a thread requesting anonymous posting.

It crashed and burned, probably like this one will.

That’ll be a big “NO” from me. BattleTags would be much more preferable to keep the trolls in check.

Overwatch 2, at no point, implemented this in forums. You are already too anonymous.

We get it, though. Being anonymous makes it easier to troll.

Then I suggest you avoid places with “not friendly players”.
If you feel unsafe using the forums, donʻt use them, itʻs just a place where folks post ideas and opinions.
I feel it is mostly harmless.
