Hey, why did the scourge event end early?

Why do the anti-scourge posters always try to make it personal?
You apparently won and got what you want, but not with any grace at any point this week and you’re still sore about it.
I’m just wondering what happened, they(blizz) were very vocal about things a couple weeks ago but that level of communication ended rather abruptly.

For anyone curious, you can read the original timeline of events here:

The infectious period lasted five days.
Today is day five.
We are just waiting on the “cure” quests now, which don’t seem to have spawned.

it ended early in 2008 not this early tho.

And this time the Scourge Invasion part started early. It wasn’t supposed to start until the 13th.

Those were supposed to spawn before the event ended. The end of the event is from the questline involving the cure. There’s no waiting for the questline if everyone is already cured and the questline never became available.

anyone saying it was supposed to end today has sub room temperature IQ

where is the quest? that’s the dead giveaway something is broken

I was told that the zombie event was crashing benediction and faerlina and they were super QQ about it, but who knows

If we were following the original timeline, the ending quest givers would appear in Phase 5 which should have happened at midnight server time last night, but they didn’t. Phase 6 with the cure would have happened automatically today at noon, which it appears that it did.

In my previous post I was simply pointing out that the Scourge Invasion, which includes the zone events and extra boss in Kara was not supposed to start until the 13th, but it started on the 9th, much to Blizzard’s surprise. So clearly, there are some programming issues with this event and its phases.

You can read the original timeline of events here. Today is day 5, the same day that the original event ended.

It appears that the ending quests did not spawn like they were supposed to, and we jumped straight to phase 6.

It is evident that there are programming problems because the Scourge events out in the world and in Kara were not supposed to start until the 13th, and Blizzard was as surprised as everyone else that it started early.

Well, my only thought is what The Prisoner said to Number 2. “There is a question the General cannot answer.” It is the same as yours.

The quest giver was available, following the correct timeline on the PTR when they dry ran this event.

True, but to announce it to start on the 13th and then let it progress with bugs was a mistake, and a lot of people locked on kara and missed out on the new Boss because of their raid lock out.

Too many problems to NOT run the event again on the 13th imo.

Plenty of people have complained since the beginning of this event that the Argent questgivers were not showing up, the Argent Quartermaster was not showing up, and we know for a fact that the scourge invasion started on the 9th {instead of the 13th) to the surprise of everyone including Blizzard. Some here are reporting that their servers have not progressed past stage 4 of the zombie event. Others report that the ending quests never appeared and the cure has happened anyway. I think its safe to say that there are some major programming problems with the event.

I didn’t suggest that they re-start the event.

It was causing server issues for sure on Bene.

Along with the griefing.

it was griefing so thankfully its removed.

Deep cut reference.

That’s fair  I don’t think Blizzard knows what they were doing with this event seeing as nothing seems to have gone to plan. There’s still servers that are stuck in limbo on Phase 4 and have been for almost 2 days.

yeah and it didn’t happen on the PTR either, event worked as planned - something else triggered some weird states.

There’s also the fact that a handful of other servers are still stuck in Phase 3/4 and have been for nearly 3 days now.
