You mean the swoops hitting or missing is better than hits from claws persec while hovering?

Well now that you mention it, there are VTOL aircraft like the Harrier Jet, the F-35B Lightning II and the V-22 Osprey that can take off and land like a helicopter then fly like an airplane.
Of course there are still helicopters that fly like helicopters better than they can and there are fixed wing airplanes that fly like airplanes better than then can.
Totally valid complaint for old world.
As for reg flying being faster in DF, you will always have 1 that makes these kinds of threads, because they have either participated in the PF thread or they read it.
That would make this a troll post, because this exact complaint was mentioned in that thread, and of course someone would take your bait, or one of the other DF fanatics suggestion that the forums would be full of this idiotic suggestion.

that was why I loved that dungeon up in the clouds (I forget the name)… I’d mount on my mammoth and fly around the room.
You know I’ve been on this forum a long time (and have even hearted a few of your responses), and never once have made a troll thread! I took a year off - and mentioned earlier I was re-reading Tides of Darkness in which the griffins are aerial fighting. Just lead me to this thought/question.
I also further said I’m fine with the way things are. For the record there is also the couple replies in a thread that have to call the OP a troll for asking a question - either because the responder lacks better substance or out of sheer ignorance.

Ahh, I see … oh well, still going to ask a question when I want, but can see the confusion of what I thought was an innocuous question. I probably should have gave it more context instead of explaining myself down the line. Curiosity killed the cat, just open Schrödingers cat box!

No worries. I can see (now) why some of the responses are the way they are. I also see the slew of threads coming to actually complain. Personally I think they’re doing fine with choices. My only concern is the game maker’s adding new hoops to get dragon flying next expac (or eventually) like they did for regular flying.

Oh it will happen. ONLY reason we got it so soon is because DR was the only new feature added while they stripped out 3/4 of actual open world content.

Because WoW doesn’t have Sequence “RD-601”.
Had a link up, but because there are people who report posts just to get other people in trouble. As the clip does have some profanity, I decided to take it back down. Look up “What Really Happens Behind The Scenes At Duck Hunt” by Lowbrow Studios if you want to know what Sequence “RD-601” is.

Regular flight is, well… regular flight. Dragonflying will eventually be everywhere and will be there for fast flight.
Having the two makes both sides happy and that makes me happy BUT, don’t expect regular flight to go dragonflight speeds, that’s asking too much.

The only way I’d want old mounts to go faster is if they are enabled to use dragonriding. Old mounts using dragonriding can go as fast as dragonriding allows them to go. I’m fine with that.
Regular flight needs to stay at 310% plus small zone or class speed buffs (such as the existing garrison stable rank 3 +20% speed buff). Dragonriding is too fast for me. I do not want regular flight to go any faster.
